Chapter Ten
"Oh, I see. You and your mother are messing with me and ignoring my calls, right? You don't want to pay me. Guess what? I just threw out all of your useless stuff. That should bring you here."

Brian read this text message as he was being driven to a salon Charlene recommended. Below this message was a picture of their belongings piled up outside the apartment.

He chuckled. Even though it was a text message, he could imagine his landlord's angry expression and voice as he read it.

The landlord hated him and his mother so much because they paid their rent late. What a relief they weren't living there anymore.

He stared at the picture of all their belongings. His room in the mansion had everything he needed, even better. So there seemed to be no need to get his belongings.

But his school books were among them. He needed the notes he had written in them for school. And he didn't feel comfortable leaving their belongings lying there for anyone to take.
