Chapter 17

Daniel stood up and looked around the room. It fell silent, he could only hear the beeping of the life support machines. He took a long, hard look at his aunt. She didn't deserve to be hooked up to machines on the bed while he had the Relic.

"Don't worry, aunt; I'll find a solution," he said softly as he kissed her cheeks.

He quickly wiped his tears away as he gathered himself. He needed to read the letters carefully and patiently. Every time he had attempted to read them, he was always interrupted.

He walked out of the room, texting his friend Zain of his intentions to go home and freshen up. Zain replied and asked him to take all the time he needed.

He arrived at the apartment and read the letters word for word, looking for any mention of full activation, but to his disappointment, none of the paragraphs went into detail.

He threw the letters on the floor in frustration, screaming. The details he was looking for were not in there and his aunt who had an idea of what he was looking
