Chapter 25

Daniel arrived at his apartment satisfied with the events of the day. He smiled as he walked to his room. He was certain George Meyers was already receiving phone calls from his friend's parents and biting his tongue while explaining his threats.

He was no longer going to have any problems with the fool if everything went as planned. As he sat down, he relievedly signed. He held the relic in his hands, remembering the old fool holding it without realizing it.

The adage "hide something in plain sight for the enemy" worked in his favor. He chuckled as he remembered the old man's expression.

Perhaps one day, after making him pay for everything he'd done to his family, he'd reveal how he'd hidden the relic in plain sight.

He stood up with a smile, clutching his insulin infuser. With the project's funding and the Relic's power, he was going to bring the device to life in his aunt's honor, and, more importantly, it was going to make the nurses' job of managing her diabetes in her coma state
