The man, Jeremy, was the head of the dormitory and Belinda's cousin.

William still couldn't guess what Jeremy's purpose was in greeting him.

When he arrived, William asked, "What's wrong?" William's eyes were full of curiosity.

Jeremy looked annoyed. "Do you think this dormitory is your private apartment, so you can come and go as you please?" he said in a sharp tone.

William was surprised and astonished. He didn't expect to be confronted with a question like this.

"But I always get home before closing time, don't I?" he retorted, trying to defend himself. He did often go home at night, but always made sure to return before the dormitory closing time.

Jeremy snorted, unsatisfied with William's answer. "Closing time? You think that's the problem?" he said, crossing his arms over his chest.
