Spring

The shrill ring of my phone pierced the sterile silence of my room, a jarring note in the otherwise peaceful symphony of the afternoon. With a sigh, I reached over and answered, the sterile white walls seeming to magnify the sound.

"Hello?" My voice echoed slightly in the emptiness.

"Anabelle? Hey," I responded, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips. "What's up?"
