Clara hid, making sure she did not make a sound or he would destroy her life finally.

“Asshole! Where are you? Come out now or I’ll slice your throat when I see you!!” He screamed, holding a knife in his hand.

He was really not bluffing. Slicing people's throats was not a new thing to him. He had done so much more. He had been arrested over and over again. But his rich dad would always bail him out.

“Murder is in my blood!” He said out loud. “And you know this, yet you chose to allow another man to drive you and even have sex with you!!” He roared, scattering the room.

From where she hid, Clara could only pray for her almost lifeless soul. Sex?! She barely even knew the guy, not to mention that she blatantly rejected his offer to help her.

The truth is, Clara liked his personality. She couldn’t even recall his name, but he made a lasting impression on her. He literally fought for her at her workplace, something that nobody, not even her so-called boyfriend, had ever done.

Brod chuckled nervously, trying to mask his growing unease. “Do you know who I am? Do you know what I can do to you? You’re just some fool with a car and a bad attitude.” Mr. Frost took another step forward, his dark coat billowing slightly in the evening breeze. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small device. “No. I do not know who you are and I do not care. You also do not know who I am. If you did, you would shrink into a withered dick like the one inside your pants!” Those words angered Brod, hurting him deeply. He had never been spoken to in that manner. So, he left his victim alone and ran towards the man threatening him. He was going to teach him a lesson: rabbits do not play rough with snakes. As soon as he was close enough, Brod reached out to dice his head, but Mr. Frost quickly dodged it, and then he smashed Brod on the leg, sending him to the ground. With that one little, insignificant kick, Broderick sprawled to the ground, bursting into a sudden scream wh

Mr. Frost’s lips curled into a cold smile. “You’re right. I don’t. And I don’t need to. But you know exactly who you’ve messed with tonight.” He tilted the chainsaw ever so slightly closer, making Brod flinch. “Now, crawl away like the worm you are. And remember—this is your one and only warning.” Brod scrambled to his feet, his bravado utterly crushed. He hobbled away, muttering curses under his breath but never daring to look back. The crowd parted, some recording on their phones, others cheering softly. Clara’s heart thundered in her chest as she watched him disappear into the darkness. Mr. Frost turned to her, his expression softening ever so slightly. He offered her a hand, and for a moment, she hesitated. But as her trembling fingers met his, she felt a strange sense of safety. “Are you alright?” he asked, his voice gentle now, a stark contrast to the steel in it moments ago. Clara nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. “I—I think so. Thank you.” He studied her momentar

The truck, top-heavy with crates of eggs, tipped dangerously as Nathan fought to regain control. His heart pounded in his chest, the steering wheel jerking under his grip. But it was no use—he couldn’t stop it. The truck skidded, flipped over the embankment, and tumbled into the ditch below. Nathan lay there, trapped in the cab, his head throbbing from the impact. The sound of eggs smashing and metal groaning filled his ears, but over it all, he could hear Broderick’s cruel laughter. The rich boy stood at the edge of the embankment, looking down at Nathan with a smug smile on his face. "Ere now, Nathan! You're a right ol' nobody! Just a bleedin' charity case, ya 'ear me? You'll never be part of our set, old chap. You're just a poor, unwashed urchin, not worthy of polishing our silverware. Do accept your station in life, Nathan, and don't bother trying to rise above your betters. You'll always be a lowlife, Nathan, so get used to it, ya wretched little blighter!” Broderick sneered b

The car ride was smooth and queer. They drove past the street lights as they illuminated on Mr. Frost’s car. Clara placed her head on the window to absorb everything that had happened that day. She took a moment to ponder over just how close she was to losing her life. She was this close, as a pin next to an inflated balloon. Then, she tilted her head to Frost. She did not know what to say, how to react, or even what to think. Was she falling for him or was her soft heart melting away, replacing her brain? She couldn’t tell. But one thing was sure; the man driving the car; the man who fought for her at her workplace came out of thin air and saved her life. The future was bleak and Clara did not know who this Frost guy was or what power he possessed, but she was truly scared. She had seen Brod at his most ruthless state. Brod plays with humans’ body parts for fun. He was not so far from being a carnivore. What he would do to her and Frost was unclear, a dream she would never want

Clara felt a lump in her throat, unsure if it was from relief or fear. “I just… I don’t want you to get hurt because of me.” Frost gave her a sidelong glance, his tone light but with an edge of determination. “I’ve been hurt worse, trust me. And I’ve survived. Broderick isn’t the storm, Clara. He’s just a cloud. He doesn’t know it yet, but the real storm’s already here.” Clara’s mind raced with thoughts and emotions swirling like a storm. She wanted to ask more, to dig deeper into Frost's past, but something held her back. There was a gravity in his demeanor, a sense that his scars were his own to bear, and prying too much would only push him further away. The car turned onto a quiet, tree-lined road, the city’s lights fading behind them. Clara could feel the tension easing slightly, though her heart still pounded with residual fear. She looked at Frost again, her voice trembling. "Frost... why are you helping me? You barely know me." He glanced at her, his expression softening f
