All of the workers had left and the silence that enveloped inside the mansion was comforting for Marcus.

"I see that you are very satisfied, Marcus Thornwood."

Marcus flinched. He forgot that Christina was still there.

Turning to face Christina, Marcus nodded appreciatively.

"Yes, it had to be done. Loyalty should be rewarded, and those who disrespect it should not be allowed to linger."

Christina's eyes gleamed with a mixture of admiration and intrigue.

"You handled it with remarkable strength, Marcus. This mansion is truly under new management now."

Marcus smiled.

"It's all thanks to you, Christina. Thank you for agreeing to my request, but I actually thought that you gave them the $500,000," Marcus said.

He actually thought that since he asked $500,000 to buy the house they are actually buying it without bringing up the legal documents. He gave up taking legal countermeasures since he knew that it would be a dirty fight and he just wanted to have the mansion as soon as possible.
