Ethan stood just outside the door to the family’s drawing room, his hands clenched into fists, the air around him charged with a simmering energy. The faintest hum of his dragon god powers reverberated through his chest. He could feel the ancient power stirring within him, a protective fury rising as the scene inside unfolded.

Maria’s voice rang out, harsh and commanding, "You’ll go tonight. It’s the only way to fix this mess."

Felicia stood there, her back straight but her eyes filled with the weight of desperation. "I won’t do it," she said firmly, though there was an underlying tremor in her voice.

"You will," Maria sneered, crossing her arms. "Or you’ll never see your daughter again. You know what’s at stake. If you don’t go to that man, we won’t pay the hospital bills. And if your daughter dies, that’s on you, Felicia."

The words hit like a physical blow.

Ethan’s power surged, his healing energy recognizing the pain in Felicia’s expression.

His chest burned with the need to act, to protect her from the manipulative forces at play.

Maria’s voice grew cold and calculating. "You have no choice. You’re not some innocent little girl anymore, Felicia. You’ll do what’s necessary for the family."

Ethan’s breath quickened. His appraisal ability kicked in, silently scanning the scene.

He saw the way Maria’s lips twitched in satisfaction, how the old grandfather’s eyes glinted with cruel anticipation.

His mind mapped out the web of manipulation—Maria was the puppet master, with the family’s wealth and influence as her strings.

But it was clear now: Felicia was the sacrifice, and Maria’s threats were just a tool to force her into compliance.

The grandfather, an old man whose face was wrinkled with years of cunning and scheming, sat back in his chair, observing the interaction with a cold, detached amusement.

He seemed to take pleasure in the torment unfolding before him.

"It’s settled then," he said, his voice a gravelly growl. "Felicia will go. And if she doesn’t, well, that’s her choice."

Felicia’s hands clenched into fists, the shame and anger radiating from her like an aura. But the underlying fear was undeniable—her daughter’s life was at stake.

It was then that Ethan’s dragon god powers began to resonate fully. T

the energy within him vibrated, amplifying the protective instinct that had been building since he had first discovered the truth about his past.

The ancestral force of the dragon, ancient and boundless, filled his body with raw power.

His healing ability flared as well, sensing Felicia’s distress on an almost molecular level.

It was as if every wound, every pang of fear she felt, became his own.

Ethan stepped into the room, his presence like a storm in the calm.

The air grew heavy, and for a split second, everyone seemed to freeze.

His dragon energy radiated from him, crackling through the space like static before a thunderstorm.

"Enough," Ethan’s voice was low, but it carried a weight that made everyone in the room flinch.

Maria’s eyes narrowed, and she sneered. "And what do you think you can do about this, Ethan? Felicia will do as she's told. The family has spoken."

Ethan’s gaze never wavered. "Felicia will not do anything. She’s not going to spend a single night with anyone."

The room fell silent, the tension thick enough to cut with a knife

. Felicia looked up at Ethan, her expression a mix of surprise and disbelief.

She opened her mouth to speak, but Ethan held up a hand, silencing her.

"Don’t worry," Ethan said, his voice gentler now, but still firm. "I won’t let them control you any longer. You’ve already sacrificed enough."

Felicia’s eyes shimmered with emotion, and for the first time, she let herself relax just a little. Ethan’s words had broken through the wall she had built around herself for so long.

Maria’s lips curled into a vicious smile. "And what will you do, Ethan? Do you think you can stand against the entire family? Against us?"

Ethan’s eyes flashed with a power that was undeniable. "I think I can do far more than you realize."

He didn’t raise his voice, but the change in the atmosphere was palpable.

His dragon energy filled the room with an unspoken warning.

Maria’s sneer faltered, and even the grandfather’s eyes widened slightly as if sensing the weight of Ethan’s resolve.

"Go ahead," Ethan said, his voice cold and unwavering.

"Try and make her. See how far you get."

The grandfather slowly stood, his weathered hand gripping the arm of his chair.

"You’re a fool, Ethan. You think you can challenge us? You’re nothing but a puppet. A lost son-in-law with no real power."

Ethan’s smile was slow, deliberate, and dangerous.

"You don’t get it. I’m not the weak man you remember. I’m the warlord you feared."

Maria’s face twisted in anger. "You think you can just waltz in and change everything? You’re nothing without us."

Ethan stepped forward, his power growing, filling the space with an energy so thick it was almost tangible.

"No," Ethan said, his voice resonating with ancient power. "I’m everything because of what you’ve done to me. And now I’m going to make you all pay for it."

Felicia looked at Ethan, uncertainty still clouding her eyes. "Ethan, I don’t want you to do anything reckless."

"Don’t worry," he said softly, his tone softer now. "I’ve got this."
