Chapter 166. Encounter

The Phoenix docked at a deserted pier, the only sound the creaking of the old wooden planks. Arianna handed Drake a comms device.

"The contact will meet you at the abandoned warehouse on the outskirts," she briefed. "Be careful."

Drake nodded, tucking the device into his pocket. "I'll be fine."

Zephyr stepped forward, her eyes locked on Drake. "I'm coming with you."

Drake shook his head. "Arianna's orders. I go alone."

Zephyr's face fell, but she nodded reluctantly.

As Drake exited the Phoenix, the cool night air enveloped him. He walked alone, his senses on high alert.

The warehouse loomed before him, its broken windows like empty eyes. Drake approached cautiously, his hand on his knife.

A figure emerged from the shadows, tall and imposing.

"Drake Michaelson," the figure said, its voice distorted. "I've been waiting."

Drake's grip on his knife tightened. "Who are you?"

The figure stepped forward, revealing a hooded face. "Someone who knows your truth."
