Chapter 19: Executing the Plan

Rashard immediately embraced Adam while saying, "Lockwood really dislikes the idea of taking turns on missions. If it weren't for necessity, I doubt he would do it."

The goal of Adam, Rashard, and Trevor was to make Leon take the bait quickly. It was quite simple; they just needed to steer the conversation to the point where Leon would be curious about the cards held by the three of them. It wouldn't be difficult, considering Leon had already allied with Elly from the beginning.

However, seeing that Leon seemed a bit closed off due to his traumatic first experience, they had to improvise.

"Besides, Thys also has a little interesting secret. The Empress card should be held by a woman!" Rashard joked halfheartedly.

"Shut up. If I could choose, I would also prefer a card that sounds cool like yours, The Devil," Trevor joked. He deliberately used the same phrase as Rashard's response when he and Adam questioned his card.

Leon's eyes widened,
