At the dining, everyone was talking well except for Gary, who was completely into his meal.

How accurate Fallon was with the time that had passed made Gary‘s eyes drift towards her, knowing that since the day they wanted to leave, he had been keeping his distance from her and trying his hardest to keep himself occupied.

They had been staying away from each other and even though it felt strange Gary didn‘t want to admit it; he missed spending time together with her, and he hated seeing the disappointment in her eyes when their gazes locked.

Brushing his thumb against his bottom lip, Gary drifted into his thoughts with his focus solely on her and his mind blank.

As Fallon’s gaze darted away from James, it rested on his steady eyes and the way they stared deep inside hers. Uneasy, she pushed her plate, woke from her seat, and said, “I‘m full.”

Worried, Mrs Gilbert looked at the still fill plate and then at her daughter, feeling a pang of guilt and heartache since she has watched the two

Gary, he’s not getting up!!” Mrs Gilbert panicked, turning around with a tear in her eye.Silently Gary walked over to the guy, kicked the blade aside, squatted, and placed his fingertip toward his bloodstained nose, feeling the warm air flowing onto his skin and exhaling deeply with relief as he whispered, “He’s still breathing.”Glancing over at Mrs Gilbert, Gary met her eyes and said, “I'll be back, let me get my keys so I can take the dude to the hospital.""No, Gary. Ryan is a doctor, he can help." Gary smiled slightly, placed his hand on her shoulder and said.

The living room of the Larsons' mansion was quiet, until Raphael walked into the doorway, and saw his grandmother, reading a newspaper. Shutting it, Alora watched the look of disappointment on his face and then asked, “ Why do you look so dejected?”Sluggishly, Raphael shrugged and sat down on the couch opposite his mother, before speaking again, “Gary got nothing to lose!”Those words made Alora raise her eyebrows in shock, and she put down her paper to give her son an incredulous look.“After waiting one week and expecting an answer, is that all Dillon has to report?! What kind of nonsense background investigation is that!” Alora questioned, looking at her son with disdain.“Well, he did his job, but no one in the country and in South Hill seems to truly know who Gary is… except if it's related to Sandra or rumours about him and Fallon. He has no work history, no family or friends… and he doesn’t seem to even go to school or college…” Raphael said, trying to figure out how else to ex

Worriedly, Gary paced slowly around the room with his phone pressed against his ear as he said, “Yeah, morning.” Gary sat at the edge of the bed when he heard Tom say.“Boss, I have a report,” “I am all ears,” Gary answered, with a straight face. “This week, Bryan Check met up with Mr. Brook, President of the Calvary company, Mrs. Alexis , CEO of CA Energy and Mr. Dan Vaughn , chairman of Sumal Industries. We investigated these three for suspicious activity in their businesses, but they are clean…” Tom said, with affirmation. Allowing those words to sink in his thoughts, Gary began pacing again as he muttered under his breath, “Clean?”Feeling uneasy by his boss‘s tone and question, Tom paused, before he resumed and said. “We have been following Bryan for three weeks, boss, and most of the business-wise interaction he has had has been with honest businessmen. Nothing that would raise red flags or warrant attention…” “Though his social life is a mess… the man lives lavishly, with c

A man lives to die After an hour-plus drive, Gary pulled into a small clearing. Getting out of his car, Gary and Tom stared at the old warehouse in front of them, and how deserted this area was.“Boss, it’s not too late to get back into the car,” Tom whispered, gesturing to the car behind them. “I don’t think it’s safe to walk to the warehouse…”Patting Tom on the back, Gary smiled and teased, “Grow some backbone, man.”‘I have a backbone. I’m just worried about your safety. Your father will not be happy with my performance if a bullet or knife strikes through your heart.’ Tom thought to himself, keeping quiet about his concerns. ‘I don’t want this to go South, boss.’Shaking his head lightly, Gary pulled out his phone, scrolled through his contact, and stopped at Jerome’s number, dialling it without hesitation. The phone rang twice before there was a click and Jerome answered, “Hey, boss.”“I’m outside. Come out,” Gary ordered calmly, his eyes scanning the surrounding area. The line

There was a long pause as Adrian stared calmly at Gary, his expression blank and emotionless, not breaking eye contact with him.“You got some powerful people coming behind you." Adrian remarked, crossing his arms against his chest, waiting for Gary’s reaction. “Why?”Gary didn’t budge as he stared back at Adrian, not saying a word, and he didn’t give anything away, nor gave any hint to Adrian as to what he was feeling by those words. “The Larsons, some of these people work for them mainly Raphael, the dotted grandchild of Alora.” Adrian paused again for another second, making sure his words were completely understood.Silently, Gary eyed Tom, seeing the look of concern and worry etched on his features, and he then shifted his gaze over at Adrian.A faint frown surfaced on Wess's lips, one of Adrian's men as he looked at Carlos and mumbled, “Didn’t the news say that Sandra’s ex-husband is a worthless stay-at-home husband with nothing to his name except his desire to leech off her wea

The last time Alora was present, things quickly escalated, and Fallon didn’t want to experience it again, and somewhat, she was thankful that Gary wasn’t present either since she knew the hostility Alora had toward him.“Sure, but my mom gets to come.” Fallon said, calmly staring between Alora and Raphael,The thought of being alone with these two made her alert, and she didn’t want to face them on her own, knowing their temperaments.“Of course. We came to talk to both you and Silver.” Alora with a sweet smile that made Fallon more uneasy.Suddenly, the front door opened, and Fallon felt her heart leap into her throat as she watched Gary walk in.His gaze resting on Raphael, Gary’s brows snapped as he blurted out of curiosity, “What’s going on here?”A sense of raw animosity and anger filled Raphael’s features, keeping steady eye contact with Gary as he let out, “It’s none of your business. I can tolerate coming.”The sight of Alora and Raphael, the longer they stood in her face made Fallon feel incredibly uncomfortable, and she blinked back her tears, averted her gaze, and stared down at the invitation.“If that is all, I would like to attend to my daughter’s wound,” Mrs Gilbert said in annoyance, her eyes fixed upon Raphael as she continued speaking quietly. “You guys can see yourself out.” Unexpectedly, Alora walked over to Fallon, taking her hands in her grips, and startling her with the sudden contact that caus

What are you doing here?” One of the five officers asked with worry evident in his voice. The other four looked just as confused as him, and fear started creeping its way on their faces after the chief didn’t reply immediately.Meeting Gary’s eyes and his bloodstained nose, Mr. Bamford frowned, dragging his gaze down to Gary’s hands locked behind his back, and said, “Uncuff him now!”The firmness in his tone caused Fallon’s eyes to widen with a shocked expression, she opened her mouth, but no wo

He‘s a man of honor, and so am I,” Mr. Walker immediately stated, glaring at Kyle. The security reached the scene but immediately stopped out of confusion, seeing that no one was attacking Kyle and just stood there looking at each other.“It could be a fraud! A look of fear entered Morgan’ eyes, his expression twisting with anxiety, terror, and helplessness as he and Gary continued to stare at each other. “Which will?” Mr. Morgan finally questioned. “The will that Mr. Larson left Fallon,” Gary stated plainly, averting his gaze to stare straight into the old man’s eyes, daring him to try and lie.“Whi-cho-ne…?” Mr. Morgan murmured, barely audible for anyone to hear. Then he saw Gary’s brows furrowing, and he knew that he was getting impatient as his eyes narrowed, and he leaned forward slightly in his chair.“Don’t act like a dummy with me… speak louder.” Gary uttered in a stiff tone.Immediately, Morgan’ face turned pale, his body tensing, and then his eyes widened as he blurted out, “Oooh! Oh!! Do you mean the will Alora gave Fallon the night of Mr. Larson’s death anniversary party?!”“Is there another will for Fallon?” Gary asked as he raised his eyebrows.“No! No… no… I was just scared and my mind took its time to process everything.”

The dull morning light in her face with her body wrapped into Gary’s arms, Fallon just stared at him, his lashes, the details of his lips, unable to look away. Her hand rested on his cheek, and looked at his shut eyes, stroking his skin lightly as she felt her breathing become slow and steady. “I know it was just nonsense that she said, but I still can’t get her words out of my head…” Fallon whispered, leaning in closer until there were no more inches between them, their breaths mingling together. “What can’t you get out of your head?” Gary asked, his voice low and soothing as his eyelids slowly opened. Not expecting him to even be awake, Fallon froze, trying desperately to think of something, anything because she didn’t want to tell him about the conversation between Sandra and her.“Nothing,” Fallon quickly replied, pulling her face back, feeling a heat rise to her cheeks. “It’s nothing. You should go back to sleep. Yesterday was hectic, and my crying kept you up late.” “Fallon,
