"Grandpa, that card was blown, you should have let me be if I would be given a vague card just to set my hopes up." The following day, Gary was still furious. The embarrassment from the previous day was still over him. Never in his life had he thought of getting to prison, but with this so-called new life of his, he had finally landed in prison. The following day, his grandfather requested Gary's presence in his office, hence he ended up spilling out his concerns. "It was a mistake, Gary, I had given you an expired card, instead of the new one Steve collected from the bank for your sake." "Grandpa, I'm sorry, but if this new life would lead me to the worst places I've ever been, I would rather remain with my previous identity. At least, I'm still a part of your family, your blood and your flesh." Gary voiced out in terror. Flashback…. Just a few hours he stayed in prison seemed like hell to him. Rogelio had specially instructed the cops that Gary must be dealt with. Hence, Gary
Gary had just finished admiring the towering building of the company he had always dreamed of working for. He took a deep breath and turned around, ready to walk through the doors and start his first day at work. However, just as he was about to take his first step, he felt a tap on his shoulder and a voice inclusive. Only to turn around to see Brenda Wilson, the same lady who had behaved as though she was his friend a few days ago, but had finally joined his in-laws to insult him. And there she was again standing with a smug grin on her face."Hey, Gary," Brenda said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "What are you doing here? Did you get lost on your way to the coffee shop?"Gary rolled his eyes. Brenda had always been the type to mock others to boost her ego."I'm starting my new job here," Gary replied, trying to sound confident even though he felt a knot forming in his stomach.Brenda's grin widened. "Oh really? And what makes you think they would hire someone like you?"Gary gri
The air was thick with anticipation as Mr. Winfield, the vice chairman, stood up to make an announcement."Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I have an important announcement to make. An important decision was made by the former president which I would love to relay you all."At that point, all the board members were quite attentive ready to heat what the urgent call for the meeting was all about."So from today henceforth, the president would be stepping down," There was quite mumuring amongst everyone."Huh! Who would control the whole organization then? He still has the largest share.""Is he planning on selling it out?" Another person asked confusingly. However, Mr Winfield cleared the air and said. "He is stepping down, but a new person would be appointed at the same. And that's Gary the grandson of Mr Carter, he would be the next president of our company from this time on.""What!" One of the board members yelled out in great concern. At that moment, the board meeting had bee
After the extensive meeting and agreement, Gary retired to his office. At first, he sat behind his new mahogany desk, and he tried to wonder how hard it was to be in a position of power. The responsibilities, the power and decisions, everything rested upon him. He needed to be careful, and responsible. Not even the evident fact that some of the board members never trusted his capability, and assuredly they would be on the lookout for ways to make him make mistakes or to contend with his shares if possible. However, he had just been elected as the new president of the company, and he was determined to make some changes. While he thought about this, the electric door slid open and a figure walked through."Mr Carter junior!" Mr Winfield stood at the door waiting for Gary to wave him in."Yes, Mr Winfield!" Gary was quite curious about what Winfield wanted to say. Winfield stood before the mahogany desk then he handed over a brown file to him. "Here Mr Carter junior."While Gary stared
It was Gary's first time sitting behind a mahogany desk, hence things were a bit different and of course technical but he knew he was going to fit in regardless of the initial tension. His eyes were glued to the files in front of him, of course, he had been going through them for hours, trying to make sense of the numbers and figures. He rubbed his eyes and leaned back in his chair, letting out a deep sigh. On a different note, his heart glowed, he was at least able to make a decision that tempered with someone who had dealt with his dignity before. But while he was in the middle of his thoughts, the sound of his phone chiming interrupted his thoughts, and he groaned inwardly. He picked up the phone, and Steve's voice came through. "Young master.""Steve! Any problem?" Gary arched his eyebrow in curiosity."Young master, I'll be at your office soon so we can head home.""What! Why? Any problem? I still have a lot of things to sort out. I shouldn't leave now.""Young master, I doubt
Gary was in a hurry to get to the pharmacy as his grandfather's health was promising and it was of most importance. According to the doctor, he needed to get it as soon as possible. Those words were in his brain and he couldn't care to loose his grandfather. He had checked every other pharmacy, but had found no place where he could purchase the required drugs. Pharmacy close to the hospital had none of the drugs, even the hospital pharmacy had none of the drugs. For a moment, he blamed his grandfather for agreeing to go to a regular hospital when he really was capable of doing to a bigger hospital where they could at least get the drugs delivered to the patients themselves.Nevertheless, he has to obey his grandfather's wishes. But here he was stuck without an idea of where to go next so he could get the drug.He sighted another pharmacy while he searched. Gary hurried off to the place, but there and then he met with another disappointment. "Sorry sir, these drugs aren't available."
Gary was still sitting at the lawn ruminating on what else to do, he had less time and all hopes seemed to be lost. As that pharmacy was his last option which he could afford to lose, but then he had lost it already. If the burly men who Mr Justin ordered to take Gary out were no present, Gary would have taken the risk of returning to the place, if it would cost him pleading with Mr Justin just to allow him take the drugs, he was utmostly ready for it. However, he burly men were there and that was his last option. He sat there impatient and frustrated. After what seemed like about half an hour, Gary finally decided to try his luck by walking towards the gate.He had only taken a few steps when his phone rang. It was an unknown line, but he decided to pick."Hello?" Gary said."Is this Gary?" a voice on the other end asked."Yes, who's calling?" Gary asked, feeling uneasy."I'm sorry to inform you that your grandfather has just passed away at the hospital," the voice said."What! How
Gary sat at his desk staring blankly at the stack of papers in front of him. He had been trying to focus on work, but his mind was preoccupied with the recent loss of his grandfather. He had always been close to his grandfather, and the news of his passing had hit him hard. He hadn't been able to concentrate on anything since the funeral, and it was beginning to affect his work. Right there in the office, he merely looked like a figurehead, with nothing at all in his thoughts for commencing on the day's work.As he sat there lost in thought, his Winfield had walked im to deliver the company's new budget which would require Gary sorting out new things that needed to either be included or removed according to the company's account, but then Gary had just signed all without separating or specifying. The next day, Gary received an urgent call from Winfield.Mr Gary, we have a problem. You signed the wrong document yesterday, and it's causing a lot of issues," he said in a panicked voice
