The double glass door was pushed open, and Gary walked into the bar along with Tom, his hands stuck in his pockets as he advanced toward the front desk.

Like a celebrity with bad reputation, he immediately grabbed the attention of the famous faces in the restaurant, giving him many stares, which he ignored.

“Hey, I’m here to meet Cloe Areghan,” Gary told the lady sitting behind the desk as he looked down at her, a blank and uninterested look plastered on his face. Looking up to meet his eyes, she gave a small smile, and mumbled, “Right, Gary-”

“Carter ,” Garyanswered simply.

Her gaze darted nervously from Gary to Tom and back to Gary, mumbling, “Okay, the third floor, room five.”

Nodding slightly, Gary pulled away from the counter with Tom right behind him, ignoring the conversation between the two receptionists.
