It would never be a new thing to Gary that Brenda actually met a man she was willing to get married to in just a few weeks after their divorce. It only spelt one thing to him, that she actually was flirting with the man while they were still married. However that was just none of his concern anymore, at least they were now divorced and separated. When she said was going to introduce her new man to him, he had no other one in mind than Kyle. Therefore, a look at the person from afar off, the race looked familiar, not until he loved closer and Gary realized it was never Kylie but another person."Here, Gary, meet my new man. The man who would never in this world joke with me, or take me for another, or make me suffer because he is actually super rich! Compared to some beggar I got married to before."Super rich! Oh that explained it all. Gary said to himself. If the young man were never richer than Kylie she would never in this world be with him.He had discovered that she was truly a
"Where am I?" Gary groaned, after he felt his head pounding as he slowly opened his eyes. He looked around and found himself in an unfamiliar and dimly lit room. Panic and fear slowly crept in as he tried to move his hands and realized that they were tied behind his back. One of the men stepped forward, a look of disdain on his face which was hidden behind the ski mask."You're in our little hideaway," the man said, grinning.Who are you? What do you want from me?” Gary demanded, his voice shaking with fear.“We don’t want anything from you. We were just paid to take you.”“Paid by who? You have to tell me!” Gary pleaded. The kidnapper remained silent, his eyes cold and unfeeling. Without warning, he struck Gary across the face, causing him to fall to the ground.“Don’t ask questions, just shut up and do as you’re told,” the kidnapper snarled.Over the next few hours, Gary was subjected to a barrage of physical and emotional abuse. He was kicked, punched, and threatened with a knife.
Gary groaned as he slowly regained consciousness. His head throbbed painfully, a reminder of the brutal beating that had landed him in this unfamiliar street. He tried to sit up, but his hands were bound tightly behind his back. Panic set in as he realized the severity of his situation. He needed to call for help.Fumbling in his pocket, he managed to retrieve his phone. His fingers trembled as he dialed the number of Steve. Beads of sweat trickled down his forehead as he waited for Steve to pick up."Hello, young master? Is that you?" Steve's voice came through the phone, confused.Gary let out a sigh of relief. "Yes, Steve, it's me. I'm in trouble. I've been kidnapped and I don't know where I am. Please help me!"Steve was shocked. He had been trying to reach Gary for hours, but his phone had been switched off. "Young master, listen to me. I'm on my way. I need you to stay on the phone with me, alright? Keep talking to me, tell me everything you can about where you are."Gary tried
After two days of waiting, Gary slowly opened his eyes, groggy and disoriented. He tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through his body. He looked around the room, and everything was hazy. The only sound he could hear was the beeping sound of a life support machine.Steve, who was seated next to his bed, noticed his movement and rushed to his side."Young master, you're awake!" Steve exclaimed with joy.Gary looked at Steve, and a sudden wave of memories flooded his mind. He remembered the incident and how he had been saved by Steve, but then he was surprised about where he currently is."Steve, where am I?" Gary asked, struggling to speak."You're in the hospital, young master," Steve replied, his voice laced with relief. At that moment, Gary also slowly turned his head and saw the doctor walking towards him. The doctor checked his vitals and made sure that his body was stabilized."How are you feeling, Mr. Gary?" The doctor asked."I'm feeling weak, but I think I'm getting well."
While he argued with the receptionist, he saw Mr Richardson descend with his bodyguards who were numbered in four. Dressed in black suits and dark glasses and were heading towards the exit. He therefore ran up and caught up with them immediately. However, they stepped forward to intercept him, but he didn't slow down. "Excuse me, gentlemen," he gasped out. "I need to speak with Mr. Richardson immediately."The guards exchanged a glance, but before they could make a move, Mr Richardson stopped and took a glance back. For unknown reason, Richardson asked the guards to leave him. Then Mr Johnson repeated again."I'll like to speak to you, it's quite important. I'm from ZR Biotech."Alright, let's see in my office."Richardson let the way and from the receptionist desk, she sighed at the fact that Mr Richardson didn't scold her or sack her for the presence of Mr Johnson, it seemed as though he were in a good mood.Mr. Johnson practically stumbled into the spacious office, still catching h
Back at the hospital, Gary sat in his hospital bed. His condition had finally improved and he was ready to get discharged. He anxiously waited for the doctor to arrive. He had been in the hospital for what felt like an eternity, and he was eager to go home. If not for anything, but at least for his work.Several reports he got from Winfield were not appealing. He needed to resume to see things for himself, not just what he was hearing. While he was at this, looking troubled, Steve sat by his side, trying to keep him calm.Suddenly, the door opened and in walked the doctor, a clipboard in his hand. "Good morning, Mr Gary. How are you feeling today?" he asked with a smile."I'm better than before, all thanks to you," Gary replied with a deep frown. He had grown tired of the doctor walking in and asking him questions as regards his health. He felt there were better places he needed to be other than remain within the four walls of an hospital. Hence without thinking twice, he asked. "Wh
Returning back to his place of office felt a little strange once again to Gary, but this time around, it was backed up by a determination within himself.Gary made use of the elevators, and soon enough, he was at the 12th floor where his office was located.Immediately upon entering his office, Winifield greeted him with a warm smile and a bow. "Welcome back, Mr Carter. It's good to have you back in the office," Winifield said."Thank you, Winifield. It's good to be back," Gary replied, taking a seat behind his desk."So, what can I help you with today?" Winifield asked."I need you to schedule a meeting with the account team immediately. I want to know where issues are arising from and causing the company a setback," Gary replied firmly."I'll get that done right away, boss." Winifield nodded and quickly got to work, pulling out his planner and flipping through the pages. "Mr Carter, how about I schedule a meeting for this afternoon at 2:00 PM. Does that work for you?""Yes, that's
Gary sat at his desk, flipping through the pages of the document that lay before him. He had read it twice already, but something about it just wasn't sitting right. He furrowed his brow and read through the paragraph again, scanning each line for any hint of what was bothering him.As he reached the signature line, his eyes narrowed. He had spotted something earlier, but had dismissed it as a minor detail. Now, however, he realized it could be the key to understanding what was wrong with the document. He leaned closer to the paper, squinting as he studied the signature. "What is it?" he muttered to himself.Suddenly, the door to his office opened and Winifield walked in. "Boss, the board of directors is requesting a meeting with you," she said, her voice urgent.Gary looked up at him, his mind still trying to process the document in front of him. "Now? I can't do it now, I have too much to do," he replied, his tone frustrated."But they say it's urgent," Winifield insisted.Gary sig

The door to the lobby finally opened, and Mr. Bamford walked in with twelve police officers following closely behind him.Silence completely took over the lobby of the building and only the sound of their boots could be heard hitting the tiles as they walked over to where Gary was.The tears in Fallon’s eyes immediately stopped, and a sense of confusion flooded every part of her mind as her eyes followed the officers until they stood in front of her husband and the other five officers."Chief! What are you doing here?” One of the five officers asked with worry evident in his voice. The other four looked just as confused as him, and fear started creeping its way on their faces after the chief didn’t reply immediately.Meeting Gary’s eyes and his bloodstained nose, Mr. Bamford frowned, dragging his gaze down to Gary’s hands locked behind his back, and said, “Uncuff him now!”The firmness in his tone caused Fallon’s eyes to widen with a shocked expression, she opened her mouth, but no wo
The anger that ate at Gary slowly faded, and he looked back to see his wife staring calmly at him, and yet, he couldn‘t stop caring for what she was thinking at that moment about him.Sighing, Gary looked back at Kyle and scoffed, letting go of his collar, causing his back to hit the tile, and a cry escaped his throat.Kyle lay on the floor, holding his chest, crying and moaning, shaking his head as he tried desperately to hold in his sobbing, the room became so quiet that the sound of a pin drop could‘ve been heard.Everyone was shocked by what was happening in the lobby, and Ciara‘s hands were trembling as she tried to remember the police number, her mind a mess.“Ciara! Have you called the police yet?!” Kyle cried in rage as the pain from his face intensified because of the volume of his voice, and he moaned out, “Ciara!”“Yes sir, I‘m sorry sir, um, I need help here...” Ciara stammered with a shaky tone.“What help?”“Umm… What‘s the police number?”“What the hell, Ciara!!”His sw
As the security guards approached Gary and the others, Tom calmly took out a file from his briefcase and looked back at Kyle and the investors.“Well, I am a lawyer with a couple of degrees, including Doctor of Juridical Science degree, and this is a valid will that both Mr. Larsons and the law enforcement officials‘ signatures are on, which proves everything that Fallon has told you guys, that this company is now under her management,” Tom explained calmly, taking out the document and showing it to the investors.“I have worked with Morgan before, and that is definitely his signature on this paper. He‘s a man of honor, and so am I,” Mr. Walker immediately stated, glaring at Kyle. The security reached the scene but immediately stopped out of confusion, seeing that no one was attacking Kyle and just stood there looking at each other.“It could be a fraud! Who knows...” Kyle answered, shrugging nonchalantly.“But we do know. You just blurted out that you thought the will got destroyed a
Gazing intensely into the bathroom mirror, Gary reached for his toothbrush but then paused as a memory of Lawyers Morgans‘ words kept replaying in his head, the looks on his face when he said those words, and the way his body reacted a bit nervously to question about the will.Immediately, he grabbed his phone off the sink and scrolled for Tom‘s number until he got to it, dialing it.After ringing his number, the call got answered and Tom‘s voice popped up through the speaker, “Good morning, Boss...”“I need us to discuss something important later on today," Gary said as he watched the bathroom door reflection in the mirror slowly pushed open, and Fallon popped her head inside. Thankfully, he was tying a towel around his waist.“I'll be on my way then."“Good, we will wait on you guys before we leave, so be here by nine.”Wondering who her he was talking to so seriously at seven in the morning, Fallon reached her hands around his waist and kissed his bare back, resting her head flat a
A look of fear entered Morgan’ eyes, his expression twisting with anxiety, terror, and helplessness as he and Gary continued to stare at each other. “Which will?” Mr. Morgan finally questioned. “The will that Mr. Larson left Fallon,” Gary stated plainly, averting his gaze to stare straight into the old man’s eyes, daring him to try and lie.“Whi-cho-ne…?” Mr. Morgan murmured, barely audible for anyone to hear. Then he saw Gary’s brows furrowing, and he knew that he was getting impatient as his eyes narrowed, and he leaned forward slightly in his chair.“Don’t act like a dummy with me… speak louder.” Gary uttered in a stiff tone.Immediately, Morgan’ face turned pale, his body tensing, and then his eyes widened as he blurted out, “Oooh! Oh!! Do you mean the will Alora gave Fallon the night of Mr. Larson’s death anniversary party?!”“Is there another will for Fallon?” Gary asked as he raised his eyebrows.“No! No… no… I was just scared and my mind took its time to process everything.”
The words that Gary said to Jeremy never left Fallon’s thoughts, even though the morning was now evening, and Gary was sleeping.Adjusting her head on his warm chest, Fallon looked at him, just staring, allowing her thoughts to run wild in her head, as she listened to his heart beating, feeling his chest rise and falling, listening to his breathing.‘What package were you talking about?’ Fallon wondered as she bit her lower lip, thinking furiously. All of a sudden, she heard his phone go off, causing Garyto shift slightly on the bed, hugging onto her waist tightly, and burying his face deeper into her neck “Gary, your phone,” Fallon whispered, feeling reluctant to wake him and yet, also wanting an answer.“Hmm…” He mumbled sleepily, his voice barely audible.“Your phone…,” Fallon repeated, her tone a lot louder than a few minutes ago as she tried again to shake him awake. Finally, Gary opened his eyes, blinking slowly for several seconds. After a few more seconds he seemed to register
Anger immediately started to rise inside of her as Fallon glared at Alora with a look of pure hatred, and without even realising it, she blurted. “Grandpa left that company for me, and you can’t just take what he gave to me away!” A faint chuckle escaped Alora’s throat as she gazed down at her granddaughter, before she replied. “Oh yes, I can… you know, I thought you were getting married to this… this human being because you want to own something in this family and be a part of us…” A pause followed her words as she watched Fallon’s eyes for a sign of fear and submission and when she saw a slight flicker of emotion in her step granddaughter’s eyes, she smiled, knowing that she managed to hit Fallon’s weak spot. “I will not tolerate the disrespect I am seeing from you, Fallon, and since that’s how you want to behave, I am taking this opportunity to let you know you aren’t fit to take over any of the family business. I don’t need an arrogant, selfish, and prideful woman who does not
The dull morning light in her face with her body wrapped into Gary’s arms, Fallon just stared at him, his lashes, the details of his lips, unable to look away. Her hand rested on his cheek, and looked at his shut eyes, stroking his skin lightly as she felt her breathing become slow and steady. “I know it was just nonsense that she said, but I still can’t get her words out of my head…” Fallon whispered, leaning in closer until there were no more inches between them, their breaths mingling together. “What can’t you get out of your head?” Gary asked, his voice low and soothing as his eyelids slowly opened. Not expecting him to even be awake, Fallon froze, trying desperately to think of something, anything because she didn’t want to tell him about the conversation between Sandra and her.“Nothing,” Fallon quickly replied, pulling her face back, feeling a heat rise to her cheeks. “It’s nothing. You should go back to sleep. Yesterday was hectic, and my crying kept you up late.” “Fallon,
