CHAPTER 81

The morning sun cast a soft glow through the curtains as Laura, dressed in her professional attire, stood by the side of the bed where Gary was still lying. She gently shook him awake, a bittersweet smile playing on her lips.

"Good morning, Gary. I wanted to let you know that I'll be leaving for work now." She said softly in her tiny feminine voice.

Immediately, Gary rubbing his eyes and yawning, looking up at Laura, his expression still heavy with sleep.

"Do you want me to drive you to work? I can rearrange my schedule if you need me to." He responded with a hitch of concern.

But Laura was quick to place a hand on his shoulder. "Thank you, babe, but it's not necessary. I know you have other things to take care of today. I'll be fine going by myself. I just needed to inform you so you don't look worried when you don't find me."

Gary nodded reluctantly. "Alright, that seems fine, but wouldn't you be castigated at work?"

"You know! Resuming after your wedding, no honeymoon?"
