CHAPTER 99

Gary stood amidst the commotion, his gaze fixed on Raphael, a notorious bully who had threatened to unleash his henchmen on him.

Raphael sneered, his henchmen looming behind him like a dark cloud ready to burst. "You think you can defy me, Gary? I've got men who would enjoy nothing more than beating you to a pulp."

Already, several people from the courthouse were beginning to find interest in the feud which of course didn't go well with Laura.

Gary's jaw clenched, and his muscles tightened. He took a step forward, ready to take on the bullies, but Laura reached out and grabbed his arm. Her voice quivered with desperation as she pleaded, "Gary, please! We can't afford to make a scene. The last thing we need is to end up on the news, and then my father will find out about the court issue."

Gary's eyes flickered with fury, but he looked into Laura's pleading eyes and sighed.
