Chapter 8

“You should take a good look around, Danny Allen,” Jose Claude whispered, his voice barely audible to the others but filled with venom.

“You’re nothing here. Just nobody pretending to be something.”

"If I were you, I would leave here and never come back!"

"I can even help you get a janitor job at one of my real estates!"

"You are clearly not in Kim Morris's league even when she was disfigured, not to talk of now that she has been healed and even more beautiful."

Jose Claude continued with his humiliatory and disdainful words.

Danny Allen remained silent, his expression still impassive.

'If only Jose Claude knew who he was talking to, he would be on his knees begging for mercy.'

Danny Allen's thoughts raced vehemently.

"Look at him!" Jose Claude barked, turning back to the room with a sweeping gesture toward Danny Allen.

"Does this look like the man who’s going to give you the life you deserve, Kim?"

"He is clearly a joke, a pathetic little man who thought he could buy his way into our world!"

"Kim, you have to do what is right for you and your family or you will end up on the streets."

"Does this poser even have a house?!"

Jose Claude added, his voice was laced with disdain and derision.

His security men and the Morris family members laughed again, their derision filling the room.

But as their laughter faded, a new tension settled in immediately.

Danny Allen finally moved, slowly unclenching his fists and stepping forward to stand toe-to-toe with Jose Claude.

The room fell silent, all eyes now on the two men.

Jose Claude’s smirk faltered slightly as Danny Allen spoke, his voice low, steady and laced with determination.

His face was etched with inexpression as he stared at Jose Claude unfazed.

“You’ve had your fun, Jose Claude. But now, it’s time for you to learn who you’re dealing with.”

Danny Allen's voice was laced with authority.

The situation was intense and palpable as everyone in the Morris's family Villa gasped.

"Who does Danny Allen think he is, that he should stand up to Jose Claude?!"

"Danny Allen, what has gotten into you?!"

"That's Jose Claude, Lord Claude's son!"

The voices of some of Kim Morris's family members were heard from the crowd in the Morris family Villa.

"Do you want to die, Danny Allen?!"

"Are you sure you can see clearly? Because I think you aren't!"

"If you were, how could you stand up to Lord Claude's son, Jose Claude?!"

Mrs Tamara Morris's voice was laced with a mixture of confusion and anxiety.

She wanted Danny Allen out of her granddaughter's life but he didn't want him dead, at least not yet.

"So Danny Allen or whatever your name is, I was told you paid two million dollars for Kim Morris's bride price."

"Here is thirty million dollars in cash, take it and leave her life!"

Jose Claude's voice was laced with mockery as he immediately took a briefcase filled with dollars and emptied it over Danny Allen's head.

The whole room was filled with one hundred million dollars flickering everywhere in the air.

Dumping the briefcase by the feet of Danny Allen, Jose Claude had his face etched with mockery.

"Here you go Danny boy, now pick up your dollars carefully and scurry out of here and go back to the streets where you belong!"

His voice was laced with anger and frustration.

Danny Allen only stared at him and shook his head in disapproval.

"Out of my way!" Jose Claude immediately moved and bumped into Jose Claude, he walked towards Kim Morris and held her wrist tightly.

"Kim, your grandfather, Lord Edward Morris has spoken and I have his permission to marry you whether you divorce this animal or not!"

Jose Claude's voice was laced with anger and determination as he violently dragged Kim Morris towards himself and away from Danny Allen.

"Let me go, you are hurting my arm!"

"Mom, help me, I don't want to be with Jose Claude, help me!"

Kim Morris's voice was laced with a mixture of sorrow and anxiety.

"Jose Claude!!!"

"Let her go now!"

Danny Allen's voice was thunderous causing everyone in the Morris family Villa to shudder backwards in trepidation.

Jose Claude didn't understand how and why, but he was now suddenly fidgeting and trembling.

Beads of sweat build up his cheeks and drip down his shirt.

"And…if I don't unhand her…what are you going to do about it?!"

Jose Claude's voice was laced with trepidation as he removed the glasses he was wearing.
