"This is Esparia's Central COM, all the aircrafts must return to base immediately. I repeat, this Esparia's CENTRAL COMMAND, all airc….." This urgent announcement resonated three times across all the radios of Esparian pilots right after the twentieth fighter jet was shot down.

While this might seem like it had taken a very long time for the central command of Esparia to come to a decision and order the retreat as their fighter jets were being plucked from the skies and turned into bricks, the reality was quite the opposite. The time it had taken Eden's air force to shoot down a total of twenty of their fighter jets had barely lasted for a span of two minutes before the Esparian central command realized what was going on and ordered a mass retreat.

This meticulous synchronization and the timing of the attack also played a very crucial role because although Angel One-Three had reached his designated squadron earlier than others, he just remained patient under them and monitored their c

The populace's reaction to the war declaration was not good at all. In Eden, a sense of panic started spreading like wildfire, causing them to frantically rush to the shops to start mass purchasing the things they deemed essential when in the face of an impending war.As for the rest of the world, they heard the news which seemed to be spreading even faster than light. However, they were all astounded as Esparia had chosen to go with the option of declaring war, instead of a surprise attack. This choice of theirs hinted that they were assured of their victory, resulting in them taking their time and efforts on trying to convince the world of their righteous cause and following the rules and their alignment with the principles that would garner more global support. This display of confidence that Esparia had shown with their declaration of war had divided the netizens into two groups. One group thought Esparia would really be winning the war while the other thought that they were just

"You can leave us for now," George instructed his secretary to leave after she relayed what Emanuel's spokesperson had reported about their hypothesis of Eden having bought the pilots, resulting in Esparia's loss of the aircrafts to Eden. If these assumptions were proven to be true, Eden would get these aircrafts at little to no cost at all.Aubrey, George's father, chimed in, "Is there any possibility that this might indeed be true?"He wanted to seek more insight into whether his son had done his due diligence while the companies were hiring and coercing the pilots to resign from the military in order to start working for them."We conducted through due diligence, Father. I can assure you we took every precaution to prevent such a sort of scenario from happening. While hiring, we coerced the best that the militaries could approve for resignations," George responded, his tone didn't show any sign of agitation by his father's question. He knew that this question of his father wasn't c

For the next half hour, the soldiers onboard the Pacific Fleet continued to rewatch the video of the battle between Esparian and Edenain aircrafts in silence. No words were exchanged all this long as they were trying to mentally visualize what sort of actions they would need to make an aircraft make such maneuvers and tried to calculate those precise split-second decisions that would be required to be executed without risking entering G-lock and potentially killing themselves."I can't believe they earned "Ace in a Day" title in this century and that too in a matter of two minutes!" Enrico exclaimed, both in amazement, jealousy and a tinge of fear as he envisioned himself being in control of one of those planes, facing such a monstrous adversary."They have created monsters," Elton, the youngest among them, remarked, having memorized the entire action sequence."Do you think we would have emerged victorious if we had entered a dogfight with them?" As the fleets moved, the tankers that were carrying soldiers and other equipment for impending land battles started heading in a different direction from the main fleets, executing a plan they had come up with. They continued to advance as quietly as possible, while also hoping to not attract any undue attention to themselves, praying fervently that their movements would go unnoticed. Their objective was to land the soldiers so that they can start the ground assault to seize control over the port. Once successful, they would dock and unload all their vehicles from their tankers before they embarked on the next mission of capturing the cities. When the tankers reached about fifteen kilometers from the shores, they came to a halt. Their halt was followed by the deployment of high-speed boats which started coming out of them, rapidly descending into the waters and were swiftly being filled with heavily armed soldiers, who were ready for combat. While this was happe

The cause of the explosion being the Edenian submarines that were lurking under the fleets, following them since when they invaded Esparias water. They were nothing but state of the art in everything when compared to the latest gen of any country's military.Starting from the energy, these submarines were each being powered by harnessing the energy of a star in the form of fusion reactors. This means that they won't need to ever be refueled as long as they are under the surface of the water. Because these reactors would efficiently extract deuterium, a fuel source, from the surrounding water, rendering themselves self-sustaining during underwater operations. As for the propulsion system it too was the state of the art magnetic propulsion helping the submarine in its stealthiness while at the same time allowing it to go at unimaginable high speeds. In place of sonar, these submarines utilized the same advanced scanner as the one that was scanning Eden's ai

While their navy was giving the Esparian navy fleets a PTSD for every soldier on board the ships like Oprah, the air force was also in full operation.Four SU-35 fighter jets, piloted by the Aces, could be seen escorting one midsize cargo aircraft, all of them heading in the direction of Esparia.Athena had decided to take the initiative by venturing into the enemy territory since the other side seemed to be reluctant to come to them. She had something specific which she needed to be done in Esparia to end the war as fast as possible, concluding it with minimal casualties on both sides. The soldiers, who were caught in the crossfire had the only fault of being in the wrong country's military which had a corrupt president who could be bought for a few pennies and couldn't care for the lives of these soldiers at all, thinking them as disposable pawns, as long as he was benefiting from their deaths."They are en route," reported Archangel One-Three as the radars in

With an impressive feat of already shooting down what could be said to be all of Esparia's new aircrafts, including the four patrolling ones, despite being quite a distance away from the original position of Eden's aircrafts. Their remarkable accuracy from such a considerable distance had come as a surprise to both the people on land and the pilots who were abruptly terminated, having been suddenly faced with an unexpected attack and finding themselves already ejected without any warning beforehand. This situation got even worse if we were to include the bombers who were now being scrambled to go the opposite direction of Eden and to the Pacific Ocean to avoid being bombed if they were left inside their bunkers and mirroring the losses like what happened to their fighter jets. While doing that, their air defense system of Esparia now started coming online as the soldiers manning them in different cities and locations could be seen holding their breaths, praying that the incoming pla

“So, what happened to the brain after it fully transformed into an organic one? Did it continue to sustain itself with mana, or did it require normal human nutrition?”Amir didn’t hesitate this time. “During the transformation process, it remained sustained by mana. But the moment the conversion was complete, the brain started showing signs of an energy crisis. Its cells began running out of energy, which triggered an emergency response from the monitoring AI. To prevent irreversible damage—neuron death, brain cell degradation—the AI immediately put the brain into stasis.”The evaluator’s eyes narrowed slightly. “And after that?”“After that, the team placed it in a medipod and used the DNA extracted from its cells to construct a body for it.” Amir exhaled. “Once the body was completed, they removed the stasis and immediately logged the consciousness into VR for evaluation.”The evaluator leaned back slightly, digesting the information. “And what did they find?”“There was no detectab

For a full minute, Researcher Zhao simply stood there, staring at the small brain in front of him, his mind racing to process the implications. Then, snapping back to reality, he issued his next command.“Continue supplying mana. And can we create a containment box filled with liquid mana for storage?” he instructed the fleet AI monitoring the situation. The moment he saw the brain-like structure, he knew he had to treat it as an actual brain. If it had mimicked his own, there was a high chance it lacked the ability to sustain itself independently. Instead of blood, it was most likely relying on mana to function. If they failed to meet its needs, the consequences could be unpredictable—or worse, irreversible. The fleet AI instantly acknowledged the order. It, too, had deemed keeping the entity alive a priority, and for now, mana was the only viable solution.“Also,” Zhao continued, his mind racing ahead, “integrate the containment box with VR capabilities. We need to see if the brain

Aron took a deep breath, momentarily pausing to process what he had just read. The revelation that mere physical contact had led to the discovery of an entirely unknown form of intelligent life was nothing short of astonishing.Rather than rushing ahead, he allowed himself a moment to think. What kind of lifeform could remain undetected until direct contact was made? Based on what he knew, the most plausible explanation was a lifeform without a conventional physical body, one that could embed itself into various materials, manipulating them as if they were extensions of itself, like an avatar. If that were the case, it would explain why the material reacted only when the headgear was removed. These beings must have been attuned and able to perceive even the faintest psionic waves emitted by an unprotected mind—waves that would otherwise be blocked by the shielding integrated into the headgear worn by every member of the exploration fleet. The more he thought about it, the more sense i

His curiosity piqued, he quickly slipped his headgear back on—he had taken it off just moments ago—before making his way toward the experiment box, where the mysterious material was being studied.“What’s going on?” he asked in a low voice as he approached. There was no need to raise his volume; the internal comms system ensured his words reached the intended recipient without him having to specify.“The material just turned into a liquid for a few moments... but now it’s back to its original solid form,” one of the researchers responded. Almost immediately, Zhao’s virtual assistant pulled up a recording of the phenomenon. As he watched the playback, a sense of unease settled over him. The transformation had happened in mere seconds as if the material had a will of its own. The shift from solid to liquid was seamless—almost

“What is your name and rank?”Inside a sparse room containing only a table and two chairs, a man in a suit posed the question to the individual seated across from him.“I am Specialist First Class Amir Riza,” Amir responded, clad in his TSF exploration uniform, its insignia and decorations reflecting his rank, despite the fact that this interaction was taking place within a virtual reality.“How are you feeling?”“Excited to finally be back home, grateful for the opportunity to explore space, and relieved to have returned safely.”“Can you give us a summary of the exploration?”“Yes. Once we entered the heliosphere of our designated star system following our arrival and initial rudimentary mapping…” Amir began, methodically recounting his experience.Across the station, every member of the TSF TRAPPIST-1 expedition crew was engaged in a similar debriefing process. Mars, CENTCOM – System and Monitoring Control CenterIf there was a place that could be called the eyes and ears of the empire, it was here. Every sensor, every probe, and every surveillance array deployed across imperial space fed its data into this room, constructing a live picture of the empire’s territories—a real-time pulse of its vast dominion.A tall, rugged-looking man strode into the room, clad in a full ARES dress uniform. His secretary followed closely, carrying a tablet and wearing a pair of AR glasses. As he reached the railing that separated the entryway from "the pit," where analysts worked at their stations, he wasted no time."Any course changes or deviations from our calculations?" he asked.Under normal circumstances, such a question might have seemed odd—after all, over a million vessels were active across imperial space at any given moment, each represented in the ever-changing data streams. But the analyst below the railing had expected it. Without hesitation, he

{Robert Watson of Icarus Airlines, please proceed,}Their industry closely mirrored Hermes, with the key difference being that they transported people instead of cargo. However, their expansion potential was more limited—no matter how many ships or planes they added to their fleet, the number of travelers remained relatively consistent each year. Unlike Hermes, they also faced competition, as any company with ships meeting safety standards and proper permits could enter the passenger transport market. What set Icarus Airlines apart was its exclusive service offering trans-star system travel between the Solar System and the Alpha-Proxima Centauri system. Only a handful of companies were wealthy enough to purchase ships capable of such a journey.Despite the two-year-long trip, demand remained high, thanks to VR integration. Passengers spent the journey in VR pods, allowing them to continue their work and daily activities as usual, eliminating the need for extended leave. This feature m

Sarah began her report by presenting the financial performance of GAIA Technologies over the last fiscal year. As expected, revenues continued to grow, though at a slower pace compared to the early years following the empire's formation. The initial surge in demand had been followed by a second resurgence when the Proximians were integrated into the empire, but even that had now reached a saturation point. This was an anticipated trend—GAIA Technologies' products were so widely adopted that nearly every citizen in the empire owned at least one. The VR device, in particular, was practically mandatory, given how deeply the universal simulation had been integrated into society, offering access to countless benefits and services. One key area of financial opportunity had been the universal simulation itself, where real-world currency was allowed for transactions. Many companies had capitalized on this, leading to substantial profit avenues. However, Sarah and Aron had made a conscious dec

However, since its integration into the imperial government as one of the three major ministries under direct imperial oversight, it had fully transitioned from a private security firm to the official Imperial Army. Now operating under the governmental structure, its reporting lines followed those of ministries and agencies,
