Rio's story

"What's that?" he asked himself.

Afraid? Of course. He remembered his dream last night. The only thing he thought about the sound of the falling object was a ghost. Yes, a very scary female ghost. Her face was crushed and also covered in blood, and her dreadfully long dreadlocks. Honestly, she was really scared.

But, it's already morning. It's not as dark as last night. That's why he decided to check it out. He slowly walked towards the source of the sound. Looks like it's from the kitchen. That's what he was thinking right now.

With all the courage he had, he continued walking towards the kitchen. He sneaks around like a thief. And does anyone know what he saw in the kitchen? It turned out that what he saw was the figure of a young woman he knew as Thomas's mother. But wait! About last night's dream, didn't the ghost of the woman also disguise herself as Thomas's mother?

"Aunty, what was that sound?" he asked. He ventured to ask. Regardless of whether the woman is a ghost or a real human.

"Rio. A plate fell, and it finally broke." replied the woman.

Rio exhaled slowly. His fear of his dream last night had subsided a little. He was absolutely sure that the woman was Thomas's mother. He then walked over there and intended to give his help.

"Let me help, Aunty," he said.

 "Yes thank you."

His hand put the broken plate into the crackle bag. He also wanted to ask her one thing. One thing that really made him afraid and also curious.

"Aunty, I want to ask. But before that, I ask you not to be afraid," said Rio.

 "Ask what?"

"Have you ever seen a ghost? I mean, saw a ghost in this house," said Rio.

 "Ghost?"

Instantly, Thomas's mother's expression suddenly changed.

Afraid, that's the only word to describe it. Rio didn't say anything else after that. He was just waiting for Thomas's mother to answer his question.

"Answer my question! Did you see a ghost in this house last night?" the woman asked back.

"No. I only dreamed about the ghost. But somehow, the dream seemed real," said Rio.

 "How was the dream?"

"It's a long story," Rio replied.

"It's okay. Just tell me as briefly as possible."

Rio already told her. If he didn't tell her until the end, it meant he would only intrigue her. So, he was forced to tell everything.

While completing his task of picking up the piece of shard, he narrated everything in great detail. He has nothing to add or subtract. Everything he told was purely what he experienced in his dream last night. He even talked about the transformation of Thomas and the woman into a very scary ghost figure.

"That's the story, Aunty," said Rio.

"Oh. Is this what the ghost looks like?"

 Deg!

Those words were almost the same as the words of the ghost figure who incarnated as Thomas last night. Rio was scared to hear that. He asked in his heart. Was the person he was talking to earlier also the incarnation of that terrifying creature?

But his fear ended when he heard laughter. Turns out, she was just joking. He is not a ghost, but a real human. Yes, she is Thomas' mother.

"Aunty, don't be like that. I'm still carried away last night," said Rio.

"Yes Rio. Sorry, Auntie was just joking," said the woman.

"Yes, Aunty. Oh, yes. I also want permission to go home. I'm afraid that I will be late for school," said Rio.

Of course, Thomas's mother couldn't stop Rio from coming home. Because after all, today Rio has to go to school. That's why she just nodded and allowed Rio to go home.

After Rio came home, then the woman showed something called fear. The story that Rio told earlier was really scary. Even though it was just a dream, but it's very scary.

"Hiii ... It turns out that the ghost entered this house last night," she said.

 ***

Like the previous day, when Thomas left for school, all he heard were stories from the residents about ghost sightings that occurred last night. Thomas actually wanted to share what happened last night, but there was no time for him to do so. He was almost late for school. Worse, Rio, his best friend, had the heart to leave him. Yes, Rio has already left for school.

Just a few more minutes, and after that the entrance bell will sounds. Thomas drove his motorcycle at above average speed. He afraid that he will not be allowed to enter the class. Or even enter the school area.

But fortunately, he was able to get to school on time. He immediately ran to his class to join his friends. There was also Rio who seemed to be daydreaming alone.

"Wow, savage human. How dare you leave me," said Thomas, pounding the table. This took Rio by surprise.

"Damn it!" Rio cursed.

"What? Why are you leaving early?" Thomas asked.

"Your fault," said Rio.

"Hmm. Eh, why did you leave the room last night?" Thomas asked.

Rio was immediately surprised. He didn't understand what Thomas meant by asking that. Didn't he not leave his room last night? Even so, wasn't that just when he was dreaming?

"Out of the room?" asked Rio.

"Yes I woke up for a while and saw you out of the room. After that I fell asleep again," said Thomas.

"No kidding!" Rio said while slightly forced to laugh.

"Even my face doesn't show that I'm joking," said Thomas.

And it's true. What can be seen from the look on Thomas's face right now is seriousness. Rio suddenly felt goosebumps. Even though he was sure that last night's incident was just a dream, but why did he get news like this today?

"You must be just trying to scare me. Your mother must have told it," said Rio.

"What's the story about?" asked Thomas, not understanding.

"Do not lie! It must have been, right?" Rio asked again.

Thomas didn't answer. He just looked at Rio closely while asking for a more detailed explanation of what he meant. And strangely, at that moment Rio's face suddenly changed again into a frightened face.

One thing he thought, that last night's incident was not a dream, but a reality. He broke out in a cold sweat because of it.

"Thomas, you seriously saw me walk out of the room? You're not lying, are you?" asked Rio.
