Thomas and Friends

The ghost disappeared just as his wife woke up and asked about what had happened. Aryo did not immediately answer. He took a deep breath and regained his composure. After he calmed down, then he answered questions from his wife.

"It's okay. Just a bad dream," he lied.

"Oh. What dream did you have to scream like that?" asked his wife, chuckling.

"It's a nightmare anyway. Well, you sleep there. Don't let our child wake up to hear our conversation," said Aryo. The woman nodded in understanding.

Tonight Aryo was really scared. He tried to sleep with his face buried in the pillow. His whole body was covered with a blanket. At least in that way, he could calm his fear a little from what had just happened.

 ***

The next day, there was a lot of talk about the appearance of a very scary female ghost. It turned out that it was not only Aryo who saw it, but also almost the entire village.

"Last night my husband saw a ghost."

"Wait! The ghost is a girl? Wearing a white dress? Long hair? Her face is horribly crushed?" guess the other.

 "How did Mrs. Ani know?"

"I also saw last night," she said.

 "Really, Mrs? How's the story?"

"When I was about to close the curtains, from the window I saw the ghost walking around the house. I didn't pay much attention to it, because I was afraid that the ghost would even enter my house," said Mrs. Ani.

"Well, it's still better, Mrs. Last night my husband even saw the ghost in the bathroom. Really bad, right?"

Everyone there shuddered in horror. But then again, a curiosity can always beat fear. So they still want to hear the continuation of the story even though they are afraid.

 "What? In the bathroom?"

Mrs. Endang, the fat woman asked. She was very curious about the scary story of her friend.

"Yes, Mrs. It happened around eleven o'clock at night. At that time my husband was about to pee. After urinating, he suddenly ran away. When I asked he said he had seen a ghost in the bathroom."

 "So, what's next?"

 "Yes, I'm afraid."

 "Didn't the bathroom check?"

"No. If there really was, I could faint."

Their conversation was heard by a teenage boy who was going to school. He is Thomas, a man who can be said is the main character in this story. He, who was very interested in the gossip, decided to come along, even if only for a moment.

"Uh, Thomas. Want to go to school?" asked Mrs. Ani.

 "Yes, Mrs. Hehehe," he answered.

"I heard that Mrs. Ani had seen a ghost, didn't she?" he asked afterwards.

"Yes, around my house," answered Mrs. Ani.

"How come, suddenly our village is haunted?" said Thomas.

"Did you see the ghost too, Thomas?"

"No, Mrs. But last night when I stayed up late playing games, I seemed to hear the sound of someone crying. But I don't know who. I don't care," said Thomas.

"Positive. It must be a ghost," said Mrs. Endang.

"Emm ... I don't know, Mrs. Well then I want to go to school first. Afraid of being late. Hehehe," said Thomas.

They nodded in agreement. After that, the conversation about ghost continued. However, no one tells about Marni's figure entering Aryo's house. Either they haven't heard the news or because they really don't want to tell it. No one knows about it other than them.

The orange light from the twilight has begun to appear. Very beautiful. But unfortunately, that beauty only lasted for a while before finally the black color ruled the universe.

In front of the big house a man was sitting. He is Thomas. He used his sharp eyes to look at the sky which was getting darker and darker, a sign of the presence of the night. On his face was an image of his worry at the coming of the night. A fear of the many rumors circulating about ghosts haunting his village.

"Actually what happened to this village? Why is it suddenly haunted?" he asked himself, exhaling slowly.

"Damn! There will also be group work later," he continued.

That's what scares him. Given the state of his village which is being terrorized by haunting ghosts, he should not be allowed to go out at night. But a necessity forced him to leave.

As a result, that night he went to his friend's house who happened to be in the same village as him. Together with Rio, his friend, he went on a motorcycle together. It's not far from where, but to get there you have to pass through a very dark banana garden. Yes, because in that area there is no lighting other than motorcycle lights and moonlight.

"Thomas, hurry up! It's really dark. It's scary," said Rio.

"Be patient. The road is bad," said Thomas.

The dark and lonely surrounding made the two human feel a little afraid. On the right and left side of the road lined with banana trees whose number cannot be counted on the fingers. They have heard many stories about the garden. He said there was a ghost wrapped in a shroud there. But what they now fear is not only that, but also the ghost of a woman who is roaming around.

Only silence adorns their journey. There wasn't the slightest bit of conversation going on. Bad roads make the speed of their motorcycle very slowly. Thomas tried to calm down. In the end, he managed to pass through the banana garden area without the slightest disturbance from other realms.

"It's been a long time, you guys," said a woman who was already on a terrace. Let's say her name is Miya.

"Huff ... Yeah, sorry. Everyone has gathered?" asked Thomas.

"Yes. Come on in! We'd better finish this task quickly. Don't stay late," said Sendy, the owner of the house.

They nodded in agreement. Furthermore, the five humans gathered in the house. In front of him there are various tools to make a craft. The task must be completed tonight because tomorrow must be submitted.

They worked on it for quite a long time, finally they finished the task of making a pencil case from banana stems. Breath of relief also adorn the atmosphere.

"It's finally over," said Nana, a pretty girl with bangs.

"By the way, where did you get this many banana fronds, Sen?" asked Thomas.

"Oh, this? This is from Mr. Mamat's banana garden," said Sendy.

Thomas immediately opened his eyes wide. Wasn't that banana garden he was referring to? Remembering the story about the appearance of ghost that often occurs in that area. Not knowing why, he even became afraid if he had to go back through that area again.

"What? Don't tell me you stole it from there," Thomas said.
