Emily's breath was echoing in the corridor.
She was one of the scientists of this special station. It was secretly built by the galaxy's government to study other galaxies' technologies and develop new weapons to use to gain an advantage against them.
The Milky Way's Union technological disadvantage was well known by humans. This is why its existence was made secret.
She turned at a corner and stopped to take her breath.
It was made secret, but yet…
The Darkness found out about it. If they were able to access such confidential data, mankind was certain
This is a really good chapter even for my standard at the time. I had not much to rewrite, I was really surprised overall. This feel at the same level than current chapters of my other novel quality-wise. I could make a whole novel about this story and it would probably be great. I introduced two characters with good alchemy, I wrote good dialogues, I described enough details, I gave infos on the backstory, I created mystery... I wish I could have written this kind of first chapters earlier oO

But responsibilities didn’t wait for you. General Gwak was doing paperwork. In this age, the use of papers for such a thing would be thought to be backward, but the ancient way of saying things stayed. After a few hours, his eyes left his work and he put his head between his hands. He had a huge headache. Code Zero was only to be deployed in case of extreme urgency. Only if all other officers were already sent, and no fallback plan could be issued. It wasn't because this man co

Code Zero couldn't be handled by the military anymore. Everywhere he went, resignation letters followed, and their command structure kept collapsing. That's why they sent him to see a psychologist. Maybe he could be saved. Maybe he could, but… She sighed, and asked to code zero: -So, you know why you're here? -Yes, they said to me I came to play with you!

The general sighed and sat. There was only one game in his office. -You're doing the IQ game, right? -Intergalactic greetings, general! It was supposed to be nothing much than a basic exercise to test the IQ. He bought it to get the distracted Code Zero to do it. Sadly, the inconsistent results proved that like most things of that type, it was a scam. Currently, Code Z

The way they think of things is different from mine. […] 31st December I've never been a great author. To tell the truth, I just did it in my free time. At first, it was just some tries on a file. After a few chapters, I just found the first unsightly and often gave up. Giving up can resume my life. I did music for a few years, then gave up.

I didn't meet them, but I felt their look on my back. But this didn't stop on the street this time. I felt them all day from when I left home to when I got back home. That means that even at school, they must have been hidden among the students and teachers. And this time, they seem to be well-hidden. Maybe it took them a bit of time to adapt to the environment… Five teachers of the school, including two of mine, are ill. Due to the pressure of the loo

I don't know what would happen if I fell asleep… Would they keep watching me? Or, would they… I don't even want to write it down. It makes me shudder. The feeling I get when I feel their look is enough to make me imagine the worse. Would there be a single part of my body that wouldn't get mashed like potatoes?Imagination is a terrible thing. At that moment, the graduation in one year and a half never seemed so far.I'll take my diary today.Ne

In this channel, I saw familiar names. Lower Tier Dragon, Mooncake, and that shameless Bai. These were great names I didn't expect to see. And… less known names, such as ClemCa. And… complete strangers I didn't even know existed, like Luciiiaaa~~. It's just a fun-killer… Usually, the moment you discover you got some super strong powers is euphoric. Right now, it isn’t. It's like someone told superman he can use his power, as long as no one knows of it, that he doesn't injure anyone, that he only uses it if asked to or in case of extreme emergency, to report every day, etc. To make it short, I don't want to stay with them. I want to avoid being bound by their rules. But at the same time, I also don't want to die. I understand these rules stem from a wish for self-preservation,Give me a word I'll make a world Volume 7 - The midnight channel (5) - The end. Or is it?
