It was very cold.

A dull, searing pain pounded again and again against my skull. But what hurt me the most, from that blackish perspective from which I could not leave, was the enormous cold that enveloped me...

The darkness of unconsciousness still clung to me when, little by little, I began to perceive what was happening around me.

There was crying. A weak and barely perceptible sound. There was someone else who was insulting, a male voice but full of fear. A third voice, one I could not recognize in my state of pain and lethargy, reached my ears as a low, unstable moan. A lament that was actually my name.

Someone was calling me.

I made an excessive effort to separate my eyelids. I barely could, I was only able to perceive a blurry and unclear landscape for a brief period. I realized that the right one felt more sore and swollen than the left one, and I couldn't open it properly.
