Chapter. 9 predators and prey

Fenrir's huge explosion of magic power had evidently drawn the attention of someone from a distant place.

"A familiar magic explosion, is it time for us to move master?"

A black-robed person with fiery red eyes asked the opinion of the person in front of him.

The person called master looked at the outside of the castle and seemed to have his mind wandering far away.

"We will begin our plan, but we will do it slowly. Our plan must be successful and in accordance with our goals so far. I alone will ensure that our Lord's revenge is carried out."

The master gazed intently at the painting on the wall of the castle, a painting of the dashing man the master called Lord.

"I will avenge you Lord, and bring back our glory. "

The master said inwardly showing how much loss and pain he had felt for the loss of his Lord.

---------------

Silya was still carrying Fenrir away from the Clark family residence.

With her rain magic Silya tried to eliminate the trail and ran into the forest.

But the Clark family's assassin army was still following them.

“Sir Assaf, this rain has washed away their trail, their magic is not left behind, it seems this rain is a magic barrier."

One of the assassins reported to Assaf who was the assassin commander. Assaf also realized this odd thing. He had been trying to find Silya's whereabouts using detection magic but had not gotten any results.

"You're right, but I'm sure they're not far from here, that woman is carrying a boy who is unconscious, surely her movements will be a little hindered. I believe they went into the forest, let's split up and search for them separately. Give me the code when you find them."

"Yes, commander."

With a single stomp of the feet the assassin troops had split up into the forest, about 20 assassins were now trying to locate Fenrir and Silya.

Assaf took a straight path and entered the center of the forest.

"This magical rain is still above us, this is a sign that they are still not far from here. The great mage's magic power is no joke, even her magic can cover almost the entire forest. I have to be careful, one wrong step will be deadly for me."

Assaf dispelled the air of his existence, and began to search silently.

Meanwhile, Silya who was carrying Fenrir realized that someone from the Clark family was following them.

With her magic Silya created a shelter using roots that protruded from the ground creating a place to take shelter and put the unconscious Fenrir to sleep in it.

"I can't keep running from them. I have to fight them. "

Silya began to concentrate her magic and tried to detect her opponent's whereabouts through the rain magic she had created.

"About dozens of people are chasing us, my magic power will be drained if I have to face them all directly, I have to conquer them one by one. The forest is my home, here I will be invincible."

Silya confidently began to try to hunt down the people who were chasing them. Now the race of hunting each other occurs between the assassins and Silya, like a predator hunting its prey, but Silya believes that the strongest predator will win, Silya is confident because the name Forest Wizard is not just a mere decoration. Because Silya is the highest predator in the forest.

Silya found one of the assassins, Silya targeted the weakest assassin first in order to reduce the number of opponents little by little.

Thorny root magic, red rose dance.

Silya cast a spell and created magic in the form of creeping roots that bound the assassin's legs.

"Aaahhh..."

The assassin fell to the ground, his movement hampered by the roots binding his legs. Silya quickly attacked the assassin, Silya kicked his head making the assassin bounce and his head hit the tree. The assassin was immediately unconscious. Silya immediately tied and silenced the assassin's mouth so as not to give the code to his flock. Silya hid the assassin's body among the trees and continued looking for her next quarry.

"I need to be as efficient as possible. I have to save my mana as much as possible, they are trained assassins after all. I have to be more careful."

After some time searching, Assaf began to sense that something was wrong. He hadn't gotten any news from his comrades. And he felt like he was just spinning around in the forest. Assaf, who was confident that he could quickly catch Silya, began to rethink the steps he should take. Because at least one of his assassin troops should have found Silya's whereabouts.

"Have I fallen into Silya's trap? I must call my entire army to regroup."

Assaf called out to the rest of his troops using their usual whistling code. Assaf asked them to regroup. Soon the whistling sound was heard in the air. A sign that the information had been received.

Soon the assassins had returned.

"We're back, commander."

"Where are the other troops? Why are you the only ones returning?"

Assaf who saw the number of his troops decreasing began to ask the rest of his soldiers. There were about 20 of them and now there were only 7 of them left.

"We didn't hear from them after we entered the forest, sir. We are only focusing on our own search."

Said one of the soldiers who stood at the front.

"Looks like we've fallen into Silya's trap. "

Assaf could only grit his teeth accepting the fact that his troops had been defeated, but he couldn't possibly return empty-handed, Lord Gildart would surely behead him for being incompetent in carrying out his orders. But on the other hand Assaf also hasn't found a way to capture Silya. In this forest Silya looks more like a nimble snake and is ready to devour everyone who disturbs her.

But suddenly the rain that had been soaking the forest stopped falling.

It looks like the rain magic has disappeared. Assaf who saw all this began to feel that victory would be in their favor.

"The rain magic has stopped. It should be easier for us to find them. We'll move together and search for them using detection magic."

Assaf commanded his troops. Assaf started using detection magic and rightly expected that the barrier magic had disappeared. Now Assaf could more easily find Silya's whereabouts.

"Looks like Silya is starting to run out of mana. It looks like that rain magic has used up a lot of her mana. This is my chance for revenge. I will avenge my troops and bring her head as a gift to Lord Gildart." Assaf said in his heart with a tight chest full of anger.

"Let's move, I feel a trace of magic not far from here. We will attack simultaneously."

"Yes, commander."

All the remaining assassin troops moved together according to Assaf's direction. They moved towards the place that Assaf had indicated.

They began to enter a slightly foggy place in the forest. The forest was so dense that the sun had difficulty penetrating it and the residual heavy rain seemed to have created a fairly thick fog. But in the fog there was a shadow of someone who looked like he was sitting back.

The assassins who saw that started preparing to attack. With just a nod of the head they immediately understood what they had to do. They spread out to prepare to ambush the shadow. Assaf moved up the tree to see the situation and prepared to give command to his troops. With a hand movement Assaf gave the order to attack. Swiftly the entire assassin army attacked from various directions to avoid their target escaping.

"Aarrgghhhh...!!!"

The sound of screaming echoed in the dense forest. It was a cry of pain so loud that it made the birds around the place fly away in fear. But it was certain that it was not a woman's voice, but that of a man who seemed to be on his deathbed.

"What happened? "

Assaf who was still on top of the tree monitoring the attack was also shocked by what he had just heard.

Assaf immediately stepped into the mist and was shocked at the sight before his eyes.

Assaf felt an overwhelming sense of horror.

"What the hell is all this?"

Cold sweat broke out on Assaf's forehead and his whole body shook violently at the horror before his eyes.
