Chapter 3

After gaining experience points from the gift box, Kieran felt stronger and lighter, but he knew he was still weak because he had not learnt how to fight to protect himself.

"My strength has increased, but without fighting skills, I'll just lose the competition and end up running away," Kieran said to himself.

"System, do I have to learn these two techniques manually?" Kieran opened his storage space and took out the two technique scrolls bought in the system shop. Kieran stared at the two objects in front of him.

[Simply unroll the scroll, then empty your mind as if you were meditating, and the technique will merge into you. After that, you will be able to master it."]

"Wow, it wasn't as hard as I thought," Kieran muttered softly.

The man did not realise how easy it was to learn the two scrolls. Kieran opened the scroll of the "Four Levels of Shadow Technique" technique he got from the system shop and read it after clearing his mind. He automatically mastered it instantly.

There are four levels of shadow techniques. Illusionary shadows are the first level; step shadows are the second level; binding shadows are the third level; and body shadows are the fourth.

No sooner had Kieran unrolled the scroll on it than the writing on it suddenly disappeared and turned into a mist that entered his body.

Swoosh!

A wisp of mist now enveloped Kieran. As the mist dissipated, all knowledge entered Kieran's body. The incident only lasted for a matter of seconds.

Kieran could only use the Illusory Shadows and Shadow Steps techniques because his cultivation realm was still low. The Shadow Binding and Shadow Body techniques could only be used once he was in the Ultimate Power realm. "The Illusory Shadow technique can dispel my aura of power as well as my aura of existence, and by using the Shadow Step technique, I can move faster than a shadow," Kieran said.

Kieran's body suddenly moved from its place, leaving the Black Panther still.

Very quickly, Kieran was shocked and said, "If I had this kind of power on Earth, then I could easily win all the world championship events."

Kieran returned to his place. He wanted to unroll the second scroll, but the system warned him not to unroll it until he levelled up to Ultimate Power.

After Kieran returned his engineering scroll to the storage room, the Black Panther near Kieran opened his eyes.

The animal thought, "Now my Lord is in front of me, but why can't I feel his presence?"

Black Panther did not sense Kieran's presence, even though his person was right before him; that creature wondered even more inwardly, "What has happened to my Lord during the time I stabilised my power foundation?"

Kieran told Black Panther, "I'm using a technique that can dispel my existence aura, but this technique can't hide my power aura from you because your cultivation realm far surpasses mine."

Black Panther is in awe of His Lord because he has great technique.

"Don't you have a name?" Keren asked Black Panther while looking at him. "This is the first time I've had a Lord, so I don't have a name yet, and you get to choose mine," Black Panther replied.

"Name, huh? How about Mason Lau? I think that's a good name for a Black Panther like you. We'll have the same last name," Kieran says.

"Thank you for the meaningful name. From now onwards I will refer to myself as Mason, lord of the Death Forest, and part of the Lau family," Mason said proudly.

Kieran was happy with the attitude Mason showed. Soon, their happy feelings had to be replaced because the sound of fighting became clearer in the distance. The battle made a loud noise, and the ground shook.

Kieran looked towards the source of the fighting sounds and asked, "Mason, do you know who is fighting?"

Mason thought momentarily before answering, "It's probably a war between the Wijaya Empire and the Kusuma Empire, who are fighting over this forest territory."

The two empires have fought over a hundred wars and have yet to contest the territory successfully.

The Wijaya and Kusuma Empires could increase their strength in the Death Forest, which had many resources and millions of beasts to hunt. It was natural that the two empires competed for the territory of the Death Forest.

"My Lord, I hope you don't interfere in their war; as long as the war takes place outside the territory of the Death Forest, we don't have to get involved," Mason said.

"I just wanted to come and see, with no intention of interfering in their affairs. Think of it as me analysing the potential." Kieran nodded, "You can relax; I just wanted to come and see."

Suddenly, Kieran sat on Mason's back. That creature doesn't get angry when Kieran sits on his back. Instead, Mason was happy to be Kieran's mount. At a moderate speed, they sped towards the battlefield of the two Mali ruling Empires.

After darting through the dense trees, Mason climbed up the cliff. From the top of the cliff, the two could see the battle between the two great powers that controlled the Mali region.

With Kieran on top of Mason's huge body, he watched the battle of the cultivators from both Empires in horror. Nobody was found intact. Many corpses had their bodies crushed and left only partial limbs, most of which were headless.

Kieran suddenly became angry when he saw a soldier who had already surrendered still being violently killed. Instantly, the colour of Kieran's eyes changed drastically, and the energy around him suddenly felt tense.

Mason felt Kieran's powerful aura coming out of his Lord's body and asked, "What is this aura? My lord, what do you want to do?"

That powerful aura was not only felt by Mason but also began to be felt by others who were there. The two fighting emperors suddenly felt an air that made their bodies tremble.

"Where did this powerful aura come from? Damn, just by its aura, my body can't be moved," said the Emperor of the Kusuma Empire while looking for the owner of the aura he felt.

The emperor of the Wijaya Empire also did the same. Simultaneously, both emperors found a three-metre-tall Black Panther with a young man sitting on his back. However, they did not know who the young man sitting on his back was. No matter who the youth were, they withdrew their troops because they didn't want to anger the Black Panther, the lord of the Death Forest,

"Pull all troops back immediately!"

"Move slowly and leave this area!"
