CHAPTER SEVEN

“PURING’s husband is also found dead without internal organs like Karding.” Shatile's dad spoke while they were having dinner.

“Ah. Yes, he was dead a week ago, Protasio, he was just found earlier.” her mom replies. She stays quiet, she just listened.

She badly wanted to ask; how did her mom find out that the man was already dead a week ago when the rumors outside are saying that he just died just the other day. The corpse was not even investigated yet so where did her mom get the info about the corpse that died a week ago?

When her parents are talking, she doesn't really join to the conversation, she just keeps quiet and listens. She only speak when her parents ask her a question or something that she is involve.

"Well, I saw Puring, she's screaming and crying on the road earlier,"

"She deserves that, Protasyo. She's really noisy." her mom said, suddenly she started to get goosebumps.

"But you don't have to do that, Emalyn." her dad's eyebrows almost met. What are they talking about? What does it mean?

“Do you know that she is insulting our daughter?" her mom said so she just bowed down. Her dad didn't answer. There was a long silence. "Anyway, did your rich father send you money already?"

She secretly formed a disappointed smirk on her lips. Her parent can't stand on their own feet, they are always dependent on others. Her dad is busy in a cockpit and he is unemployed. Her mom on the other hand is a housewife, who is busy cooking and defending her from those who insult her. Even if her parents don't have a job, they still have money, because she has a rich grandfather, her dad's father.

"Nothing yet, it looks like I need to scare that old man again." her dad said seriously. Her dad is an illegitimate son.

Bonifacio Laurito Uy Teologo is her grandfather's name. According to her dad, he is a well-known person in their province. She didn't know if that was true or if her dad just made it up. The only important thing for her is that she can afford school because of her grandfather.

When her grandfather isn't able to send them money, her dad threatened him. Her dad says that he will be going to show up to the legitimate family, to ruin their life forever. That's why her grandfather just sends money to them to avoid trouble.

WHEN Shatile entered the classroom, her day was ruined immediately, because she saw Kit and Ianna smiling sweetly. They have been dating for almost a month now. They are always together. They always go inside the classroom at the same time, go home at the same time and even at lunch and break time they are always together.

As usual, she hurried to walk to her seat next to Ianna. The teacher was not there yet so she opened her book for advanced reading. She really wanted to be a valedictorian. She's thankful because Elai was busy flirting with her boyfriend. She just rolled her eyes and focus on the book she was reading.

“Shatile, do you want to take a ride with us later?  Kit will gonna take me home with his car, you can tag along.”

"Thanks, but I still have something to do before going home, Ianna." that was probably the longest word she had said to her. She saw disappointment on Ianna's face and even heard her sigh.

Sometimes she is annoyed with herself and she is already guilty. Ianna didn't do anything bad to her, but here she is, being mean to her.

It's not her fault if she was born beautiful, and especially it's not her fault that Kit liked her. So, she couldn’t quite understand why she was soannoyed with her. Maybe, she was just jealous because of Ianna's beauty.

THE next day, Shatile thought of using makeup before going to school. She woke up really early to make herself presentable. Every time she sees Elai's group as well as Ianna, she felt like she's the ugliest person in the world. That's why she decided to use makeup starting today. She wanted to boost her confidence.

"You're beautiful, Shatile." she nodded to her reflection in the mirror, and then she smiled. She opened a box of her makeup. Some of her makeup is already used and the others have not been opened since she bought them. She is really good at make-up, but only in the four corners of her room can see it, because only in her room, does she gain courage.

The truth is that she is so addicted to buying make ups that she has a large collection. Different types and brands. She is happy every time she tries to make her face a different person. Because she actually can copy anyone's face.

She was just really embarrassed to show that talent to people. After a while, she has already begun to make herself pretty. She smoothed her face using a full coverage foundation that matched her skin tone.

She smiled when she saw how smooth she was and somehow her beauty came out. She even fix her eyebrows and applied mascara liquid gel. And because she always wore eyeglasses, she replaced them with grade contact lenses. She smiled because she really look pretty like as if she is not that Shatile with acne anymore but a pretty Shatile. To add to her beauty she put a little pinkish blush on her cheek and she even used lip gloss with a little red.

She's now ready to fight Elai's group. She also wanted to bounce off Ianna’s beauty. She didn’t know why she had the courage during these times, but she just found herself like as if someone was urging her to stand up and to make herself pretty

"SO, this is your YouTube account, babe?" Ianna nodded to Kit as she handed him the paper with her email address and youtube account.

Ianna told the story that she only uses wifi in a department store in town to be able to upload a video. And maybe she won't be able to go to town tonight because her mom has a fever and no one is taking care of Woni.

He and Kit have been together for almost a month and she really trusts him. Her trust and love for Kit are pure, after all, he is her first boylfriend.

"Is it really okay for you to just upload my video?" she also gave the boyfriend a copy of her mukbang video that Kit would upload as her request.

"I'll do it, babe. Don't worry," he promised. Fortunately, Elai heard their conversation and she is the one who said that Kit has wifi. And luckily, her boyfriend agreed to be the one to upload it.

“Thank you, babe. I love you. ”

"I-I love you too, babe." every time her boyfriend says I love you, he stutters. She just ignores it, the important thing is she feels Kit's love for her. That's enough, she thinks.

“Wow! That's sweet!” Lynna giggles, but after a moment, Lynna's smile disappeared as her eyes gazed at the door. “Look who’s coming! Oh my gosh! Shatile is that you?”

All their attention went to Shatile who was about to enter the classroom door. Shatile looks like she's wearing makeup. Shatile's make-up is just fine, it fits her face and looks so natural. If they don't have an idea that she is full of acne, they might be no idea that she's wearing a makeup.

Shatile looks beautiful. Ianna and Shatile are almost the same height and have same body figure. If it weren't for her acne, Shatile would probably be one of the prettiest the campus. If it hadn't been for her acne, Shatile would have surely been more beautiful than Elai. Right now, she can see that Shatie has a beauty. She just couldn't understand why Shatile was so distant from her. That no matter how much she pays attention to her, she doesn’t talk to her back.

There is something strange about Shatile right now, she seems that her confidence has been boosted. Some of the boys inside their classroom were even surprised, especially Marco who was stunned by her looks.

There was actually a transformation that took place in Shatile's appearance. But, on the other hand, she seemed to feel a little nervous. It was as if something bad was going to happen.

"Shatile looks beautiful, isn't she?" Marco said that Lynna had heard then rolled her eyes and turned her attention back to Shatile.

"You know what, Shatile? No matter how much makeup you apply on your dirty face, you are still the ugliest girl in this school. And look, all your acne doesn't seem to cover all up, right Elai?" Lynna said.

"What's wrong with you, Lynna?" Elai answered so they were all surprised, this is the first time that Shatile talked back.

“Oh my! Are you talking back to us now?”

SHATILE really doesn't want to let them bully her anymore. Why did she have the courage only now anyway? Why hadn’t she thought of doing it before? She also raised an eyebrow at Elai.

"Elai, Lynna, that's enough!" they turned to Marco. "Just leave Shatile alone, when the teacher will see you fighting, you're dead. Remember, we are all graduating students here."

Marco also knew how to stop a fight, she thought. Marco was one of the bullies and a jerk to her. What's going on right now? Is it because she looks human now? Look what appearance can do, you can turn a table if you're pretty.

“Wow! Marco, are you an angel now? What's wrong with you, jerked ass?”

“Marco, can’t you see? Shatile already knows how to talk back on us!” Lynna was also annoyed so she smirked.

"You have no right to raise an eyebrow at me, Shatile!" Elai said so she smirked.

“Why, Elai? Who are you anyway?" almost all of the people inside the classroom were stunned to speak. They're all shocked about what she said. She smirked and then she gave Elai a head-to-toe gaze. "How funny you are, Elai. You're poorer than those rats inside the trashcan. You know what? Even if you used all your friend's money, you will never fit in. You're still cheap, bitch. How embarrassing! Have pity on yourself."

“That is not true! How dare you call me a bitch ?! ” it happens quickly as she rushes to her and pulled her hair. The classroom was in turmoil. She didn't want to fight back but she was already hurt so she pulled Elai's hair as well.

“You’re bitch, Shatile!”

Elai thought she was going to lose, she underestimated her. Shatile let all her strength out, she smirked as she pulled Elai's hair and she saw much of the hairs were pulled out from Elai's sculpt. She even pushed her to the corner of the wall. When Elai had already lost her strength, suddenly someone pulled her hair again, it was Lynna. She also lost her strength that's why she can't beat Lynna that hard like what she did to Elai.

Everyone in the classroom is screaming. The others are trying to stop them from fighting, but Lynna never stops. She just found herself that Lynna pulled her inside the classroom's toilet.

“You're a crazy girl! Come here and I will show you what you are and what you deserve! You're a fake and bitch!” Lynna took the bidet and then sprayed it on her face. "Don't hide in that thick makeup of yours!"

"Stop please, Lynna!" she even heard Ianna's voice pleading. “Please! Let go of Shatile!”

Lynna's brushing her face using the toilet cleaner brush made her scream. She knew now that her makeup had been erased. Her face was in pain, she even felt blood on her face.

“S-sorry! Stop, please,” she pleaded. She pities herself. "Stop it, please! I'm begging, Lynna!"

She bursts into tears as she begs Lynna to stop what she is doing. When Lynna got tired of scrubbing her face, she even poured water on her face.

“See? You look much better that way!" Lynna said.

Later, Lynna messed up her own hair and also poured water on herself. Then she gave her a smirk before she lay down in the bathroom as if she were unconscious. She wonders why Lynna did it. Why does Lynna pretend to be unconscious?

"What's going on here?" he was surprised to see Teacher Zeffy coming in. She already knew why Lynna was pretending. She stood up, she's about to tell teacher Zeffy about what Elai and Lynna did to her but Zon speak first. . .

"Teacher, Shatile pulled Elai's hair, and then she did the same to Lynna, she even poured water on her!" Zon lied.

"W-what are you saying—"

“Shatile Verdadero in my office now! “teacher Zeffy was angry. She didn't even ask herside. If Zon was really telling the truth. "Marco Dela Vega and Zon Gutierez, take Elai and Lynna to the clinic."

Unfair! Remember this day, teacher Zeffy. You're so unfair! Her brain screamed while crying as she followed the teacher.

“I'M really disappointed with you Ms. Verdadero, I can’t believe you did that!” she just bowed her head while teacher Zeffy talked to her inside her office.

"But teacher, I'm not the one who started it! And I never hurt Lynna!" she insisted as her tears flowed. Elai and Lynna are not the only ones who are miserable here. But she is!

“I don’t mind who started it, Ms. Verdadero! If I saw you fighting with your classmates one more time I will remove you from the list for being valedictorian! I'm giving you a chance by telling you're sorry to Ms. Tuazon and Ms. Bartolome.” teacher Zeffy said. "… if this happens again, Ianna will replace you as a valedictorian. She's next to you on the list."

“But—” It's Ianna again? Annoying!

"Now, you may get out!" he was angry with what teacher Zeffy said. He rushed into the public comfort room. She cried when she saw her face in her reflection in front of the mirror, she found out that all of her acne was exposed again. Her face became red, there were also spots that has a wound because of what Lynna did. Her face hurt so much that her heart filled with anger.

She felt sorry for herself. The world is just so unfair to her. Why? Is she a very bad person?

"Be ready! I’m gonna show who Shatile is!" she whispered out of her anger.
