Ruben made his way downstairs, the quiet elegance of Isabella's home enveloping him. As he descended, he unexpectedly encountered Eleanor in the living room, her presence exuding a mix of grace and authority. "Good evening, ma'am," Ruben greeted respectfully.

Eleanor, wearing a knowing smile, acknowledged him. "Ruben, you brought in your fiancée. How nice of you."

Ruben smiled back, a subtle warmth in his eyes. "She was too tired and fell asleep, so I thought..."

Eleanor interrupted gently, "Oh no. You're doing well, but you know we need to talk, hun."

Ruben's demeanor shifted to attentive, realizing the seriousness of the conversation. "Okay, ma'am."

Eleanor guided Ruben to a settee, and as they settled in, she cut to the chase. "So what is the conclusion on the whole matter? Because I've been trying to convince her, she just wouldn't budge."

Ruben sighed, contemplating how much to share. "Mama Christina may have compelled her to do this. We are getting married this weekend."
