Mr. Ban's Report

Laura Ban was the first to react.

''We didn't get through with the divorce, pa, and ma, we are still husband and wife, we have not divorced yet,'' she explained.

''Yes, that's good. You had better stay married. Since you want to disgrace the family, you might as well carry on with what you have started, but don't just add any more to what you have already done,'' Peter scolded.

Mr. Ban started to shake his head.

''No...I insist on the divorce. You do not expect me to be able to live free with someone that does not regard me. In her mind, she has already divorced me, hasn't she? I ought to let her go,'' Mr. Ban said defiantly.

Peter's face was so ugly.

How the hell was he going to position himself to beg the very man he hated to have been married to his daughter, not to divorce his daughter?

It didn't make any sense.

Peter hated Mr. Ban the more.

He was the devil indeed.
