No Man Is An Island

Greg went to work the following day at a warehouse, where his job was to stack and unstack heavily loaded cartons.

"Why are you late today, Greg? It's very unlike you," his manager said to him as he watched Greg sign in for work.

Greg shrugged.

"I overslept," he said abruptly.

"Of course, you did," Greg's colleague said, appearing from a corner of the warehouse with a carton of heavy load which he dumped on the floor with a loud thud.

Greg turned to look at his colleague, wondering what he was talking about.

"I saw you yesterday at the Vanity Place," Greg's colleague said with a sheepish smile.

Greg's eyes shone.

He never imagined for once that anybody he knew would see him at the club. And of all people, his lowly colleague at work.

"How were you able to get in?" Greg asked his colleague with a smirk on his face.

"Yeah, look at you bragging. I got in with my mentor, but I saw how you got in though. I saw that you were with the club owner's niece. What a connection. How come
