Mr. Ban had mixed feelings as a result of what he had just heard from his sister.

He was delighted to hear that his business was up and running, but he had warned Charles Ban of the dangers of showing himself in the city, and now he had gotten shot at.

''I have warned Charles. I warned him to stay away. What if the bullet killed him? We would have been having a different conversation by now, right? What if he died?'' Mr. Ban asked.

He was angry, but because of his condition, he spoke coolly.

''Thank the stars that nothing like that happened, and the family business is back, flourishing. You should be happy about that, instead of throwing tantrums. Come on. Look on the bright side. Your brother saved this family a great deal of shame, and he put his life on the line. You should be thankful,'' Margaret Ban said to Mr. Ban with a calm tone, and sat by him, rubbing his back in a bid to coax him to take it easy on his health.
