Your House Is Open

Greg stared at his phone as it rang for the umpteenth time.

Lucy had stopped at his house to tell him the news about her mother being available to help him secure a job, but he was not at home, and his door was not locked.

When Don Black's bodyguard kicked open the door, he wrecked the lock, so they only could not lock it shut when they were leaving, and by the time Lucy got there, the autumn wind had blown the door open.

"Where are you? And why is your house open all the way as if there is a party going on inside?" Lucy texted Greg when he didn't answer her calls.

Lucy's question was enough to get Greg to talk to her. Within a short minute, Greg was calling her back.

Lucy raised an eyebrow as she looked at her phone ringing and displaying Greg's name. So he was right there with his phone and deliberately not answering her.
