Emma remained silent, unwilling to say anything that would bring trouble to her father. She was a self-centered person and knew that her father was currently her only source of support, at least until she found someone else she could rely on. Ava, being skilled at reading minds, sensed Emma's intentions of saving herself. However, that was not Ava's concern. Her primary goal was to find Nagid's whereabouts. Since he wasn't the person they were after, she had a chance to pursue him. Who knows, perhaps she might even marry him in the future.
