Chapter 13 : Early Dinners

"Not anything," Ben replied as he put his phone back in his pants pocket.

There was a moment of silence before his grandmother started babbling again.

"How have you been all this time? Are you okay? Where have you been staying? Since you left, you haven't even contacted us once," Margaret asked so many questions, leaving Ben confused as to which one question to answer first.

"Don't I look okay, Grandma? Don't you know that I'm really enjoying my life in the wild?" Ben's retort only made his mother more curious.

It seemed like this woman was really taking this seriously as her face was so inquisitive, she wasn't smiling either.

"You've been playing in the forest for years?" Patricia asked, making Ben laugh.

This man waved his palms in front of his chest. "No, ma'am, no. I'm just joking, don't take it seriously," he replied with smile, trying to release the tension.

Meanwhile, with a bowl and spoon in her hands, Margaret is focused on feeding Patricia.
