Ben's palms clenched into tight fists, he tried to look okay, holding back all his anger.
He walked out of the Campbell family meeting room with firm steps and no hesitation. Then, when he was a few steps away from the door, his steps suddenly stopped for a moment.
Benjamin briefly stood still, with one hand holding his waist, while his right palm rubbed his forehead, as if he realized something.
When he wanted to turn around, he canceled it and chose to continue walking, I don't know what he was thinking, but his face looked annoyed.
He tried to ignore it, but what he now realized still bothered him. His steps stopped again in the corridor.
Ben stood with both palms clenched.
"Why are you all still following me?" asked Ben in a loud voice, without his body turning around, making the footsteps of the people he had heard following him stop.
However, there was no response at all, that people seemed to deliberately choose silence.
"Annoying" Benjamin muttered in annoyance.
He, who could no longer contain his emotions, turned around and looked at the faces of several people who had been a few steps behind him.
"If you were ordered to make sure I leave quietly without stealing, then your work is in vain, I won't leave with anything. So go, don't waste your time and stop following me!"
It seemed like Ben's warnings were useless, as those people only showed cold, expressionless faces, as if deaf.
Benjamin let out a long sigh. "I don't know why everyone is so annoying," Ben thought.
This man looked back at the faces of the people who were now moving closer to him
He didn't know why he felt uneasy this time, he felt that there was something wrong, something that the people who had been following him since earlier wanted, but he didn't know what.
"I have a bad feeling, and usually my predictions don't go wrong I need to leave without being followed," he thought, with a slow step back, and without a signal he ran, trying to leave behind the people who were now starting to chase him.
Benjamin knew very well that there was something these people wanted, and it could be that the Campbells wanted something even crazier than just Ben's departure.
Ben ran to the front door, but unfortunately he was alone and had to avoid all the home security guards who could have cooperated to arrest him.
While running, Benjamin thought of something, thinking of how he could get out of the house without getting caught
"I think I'll die if they catch me," he thought
Instantly Ben ran and hid behind a pillar of one of the corridors, and a servant with an empty tray just passed by him, whether he could be trusted or not, but Ben chose to call him.
"Come here," he called, making the servant turn around and nod.
Although confused, that servant still approached Ben who was behind a pillar in the corridor of this spacious house.
"What is it, sir?"
Ben pretended nothing had happened, he spoke calmly. "Take me to the back door, the one where the servants bring in and out the groceries!"
"You mean the kitchen door?" the servant asked, causing Ben to pause, then nod.
This servant seems to understand. "Alright, follow me, sir!"
As the servant led the way, Ben withdrew his hand. "One more thing, do you have a hat?"
This servant nodded.
"Give me that hat, and don't let anyone know I'm with you!" Ben ordered again.
The servant frowned. "What do you mean?"
"If you want to stay safe, don't tell them that I went through the kitchen door! Even if we get caught on CCTV,” Benjamin explained with a confident face and without fear of that servant betraying him and talking to the Campbells.
This servant still didn't understand, but Ben didn't have much time to explain it.
"Never mind, think about that later, now take me there immediately!" Ben ordered with his head turning left and right.
The servant led the way, taking Ben to the servant's dressing room, then walked over to the row of lockers, and opened one of his own.
He reached for something in the locker and then gave Benjamin his hat.
After that, he showed the way without ushering. "Out of here there will be a corridor that connects several doors of the kitchen where the chefs cook, choose the door at the end, there will be a path to the garage of the cars that bring the groceries, not far away from there there will be a gate, that's the way out."
Ben nodded and remembered the route. "Thank you very much, but what's your name?"
"Jack," he replied coldly.
"Thanks Jack, I won't forget your kindness," Ben smiled and gently patted the shoulder of the man in front of him.
"Listen to this! I'll be out first, after 5 minutes ... take your hat outside the gate." Ben smiled as he walked away.
Benjamin slipped away in a hurry, while it seemed that the people chasing him now knew that Ben had gone through the back door.
They all returned to the chase, with their communication devices; one of the leaders of the chase group ordered all the guards guarding the gate to close the access to the entrance and exit, both from the front and the back.
They wanted to trap Ben and didn't warft to let him escape, until they circled around, finding the hat lying outside the door.
That means … Ben managed to escape from there.
"This house instantly became a horrible place, and I had to stay as far away as I could."
Ben ran so fast again that his heart was beating irregularly and his breathing was uncontrollable.
"Thankfully, I was able to run and get away from that house," he muttered, walking with his hands on his hips
He was completely exhausted.
"I need a drink," he said, leaning against a wall on the darkest side of an office building.
Feeling safe, he searched for the nearest convenience store, just to get a bottle of water.
Now he was in front of the door of the beverage cooler, randomly grabbing a bottle of mineral water with not much thought, he opened the lid and took a glup.
It wasn't until he checked his pockets that he realized he didn't have a penny in there.
"Damn it, what should I pay with?" his eyes scanned, glancing at the cashier who seemed to be busy serving customers from her table, guiltlessly, he put the empty bottle back into the beverage cooler, and tried to leave quietly.
There was no intention of stealing, he just didn't have anything to pay for it.
He turned around and walked calmly between the shelves of food, but someone's voice was heard calling him. Ben's heart pounded and his body froze.
"Hey, where are you going?" this call sounded half shouted, making Ben swallow his saliva several times
Elizabeth sat in her chair without much reaction to this insistence from her daughter-in-law."Mom, please, do something! It's been days and we still can't find Olivia at all."Please, Mom! I miss my daughter so much, aren't you worried that something bad might happen to her?"Come on, Mom! Please, do something!" Victoria continued to plead in front of her in-laws who looked impassively calm.Elizabeth closed her eyes for a moment and then continued speaking. "I've asked my people to look for her, is that not enough?""Of course it's not enough! You can do more than this, but you don't care at all." Victoria snapped at her, making Elizabeth's eyes look round in annoyance. While Edward panicked and tried to defuse the situation, it was clear that his mother was now angry. "Please, Mom, don't be mad at Victoria. She's just dizzy with panic, and she snapped unintentionally."Matthew interrupted, all eyes turning to him. "I don't think we should be tense, it could be that Olivia is having
Meanwhile, Ben was seen stifling sleepiness in the hallway of an underground station, along with other homeless people. His head turned left and right, glancing at the people who were swarming with flies because they hadn't bathed in months.Their body odor was already very strong, it made Ben dizzy at first before he was finally able to adapt to the surrounding conditions."Sad, I really did end up in a place like this," he thought, with his beady eyes glancing at the discarded cardboard boxes used by homeless people as their makeshift beds on the floor.Ben was pensive for a while, breathing heavily, and finally tried to lie down among the homeless."I completely forgot, how did I end up in this place?"Benjamin exhaled heavily. "...all I remember is the feeling of being hit, but I don't know who did it to me. I woke up in a narrow alley with mounds of garbage."My head is heavy, the pain seems like it will lead to death."I was lying there for most of the day, I woke up when it was
"Before I go home, I want to tidy myself up. I don't want to go home in this condition," Ben said. He accompanied his words with gestures, indicating his current appearance: dirty clothes, body odor, and several days without bathing. This made him feel really insecure."If that's all it is, of course it's an easy thing," Steve replied approvingly.Benjamin shook his head. "No, not just that, there's more!""What is it?" the burly man wanted to know."I want you to close your mouth tightly," Ben retorted, gesturing with an index finger in front of his mouth.Steve's eyebrows shot up. "What do you mean?" he asked, perplexed by Ben's request. The man in front of him began to explain. "Don't tell them anything, especially the worst part that you currently see," Benjamin explained seriously, but he doubted Steve would catch the meaning of his request. With patience, that man continued his explanation. "What I mean is... don't tell them anything about my condition where you found me this ti
Ben still looked confused by what he had found this time, an old female sevant who had quietly snuck into his room."Who are you? Why are you here?" asked Ben getting an unexpected response, one of his arms was even pulled in, the door of that room was then closed and locked immediately by this woman servant."What are you doing? What do you want?" Ben asked, unanswered. The old servant held a forefinger in front of her mouth. "I'm sorry, Sir, but … can you lower your voice? Don't let anyone know I'm here."Benjamin frowned. "My room is soundproof!"This servant shook her head. "That was then, now it's not just spies, walls have ears.""What do you mean?" asked Ben, getting even more confused."Sir, you should be careful," her warning made the man in front of her feel suspicious and confused.Benjamin was still silent and thinking, he watched this woman who spoke to him from head to toe. Either this man should really believe or just pretend to agree."I don't know how I should react,
Ben read the contents of that paper silently. The torn piece of paper had a phone number written on it for a nameless, confusing person. There is also written: 'Call him, with the phone that I have hidden under your pillow, he will answer all of your questions.'Ben hurriedly stepped towards his bed, looking for the phone that she said had been reserved for him.Sure enough, a smart phone that was already on was ready for him to use. It was as if they already knew that this man didn't have a phone before."How did they know I didn't have a phone? Did Steve tell them? Things are getting weird and I'm getting suspicious," he thought, clutching his phone tightly.Ben breathed heavily waiting for the person on the other end of the line to pick up.He walked back and forth, massaging his forehead. His steps stopped as a heavy-sounding male voice greeted him. Before Benjamin could speak, the man on call had already warned him. "Don't say anything, just say yes or no. Sir, now you just shut
"Not anything," Ben replied as he put his phone back in his pants pocket. There was a moment of silence before his grandmother started babbling again."How have you been all this time? Are you okay? Where have you been staying? Since you left, you haven't even contacted us once," Margaret asked so many questions, leaving Ben confused as to which one question to answer first."Don't I look okay, Grandma? Don't you know that I'm really enjoying my life in the wild?" Ben's retort only made his mother more curious. It seemed like this woman was really taking this seriously as her face was so inquisitive, she wasn't smiling either."You've been playing in the forest for years?" Patricia asked, making Ben laugh. This man waved his palms in front of his chest. "No, ma'am, no. I'm just joking, don't take it seriously," he replied with smile, trying to release the tension.Meanwhile, with a bowl and spoon in her hands, Margaret is focused on feeding Patricia. In between her dinners, Patricia e
The heavy voice of someone behind his back startled Benjamin. "Don't worry, Sir, we've tampered with the back garden CCTV network, and our confidants have ensured that no one will cross the warehouse area." This man stepped closer to Ben, then stood by his chair. Benjamin stood up and took a good look at the old man who was now talking to him. "You?" "Joseph Carter" he replied with a serious, thoughtful look on his face. "Sit down, and tell me everything!" pleaded Ben, who sat down first. The 65-year-old man nodded and sat down together on the lawn chair. He began to say what he was supposed to say. "I am loyal to you, Sir, and I will help you, not only because Margaret ordered it of me. But because I also respect you as my lord. "However, Sir, keep pretending nothing happened and tomorrow after your meeting with Anderson, plan your mother's escape from this house. "Margaret will meet you somewhere; if possible, I'll come and take you there." Benjamin frowned. "Why didn't Marg
Doctors are still carefully examining Ben's condition. After a moment, the examination was over. The doctor's face, which had initially looked serious, was now smiling. "Mr. Ben just has a common fever; after resting today, he will recover tomorrow." This answer made Benjamin, who was still lying on the bed, feel relieved. "No need to worry, everything is normal, it's just his blood pressure that has dropped," the doctor continued to explain. Steve nodded with his gaze directed at Ben. The doctor grabbed the book and pen from the nurse, wrote something down, and handed it back. "In order for the fever to subside soon, I'll give him some medicine. And don't forget, Mr. Ben, to not skip meals; I hope you can recover quickly." This doctor spoke with an occasional glance at Ben, then moved on to Steve. "Do we need to administer an IV infusion? Or, for a quicker recovery, can we just inject some medicine into his body?" Steve suggested to the doctor, causing Benjamin to look worrie
