Chapter 7 : Ben, Run!

Ben's palms clenched into tight fists, he tried to look okay, holding back all his anger.

He walked out of the Campbell family meeting room with firm steps and no hesitation. Then, when he was a few steps away from the door, his steps suddenly stopped for a moment.

Benjamin briefly stood still, with one hand holding his waist, while his right palm rubbed his forehead, as if he realized something.

When he wanted to turn around, he canceled it and chose to continue walking, I don't know what he was thinking, but his face looked annoyed.

He tried to ignore it, but what he now realized still bothered him. His steps stopped again in the corridor.

Ben stood with both palms clenched.

"Why are you all still following me?" asked Ben in a loud voice, without his body turning around, making the footsteps of the people he had heard following him stop.

However, there was no response at all, that people seemed to deliberately choose silence.

"Annoying" Benjamin muttered in annoyance.

He, who could no longer contain his emotions, turned around and looked at the faces of several people who had been a few steps behind him.

"If you were ordered to make sure I leave quietly without stealing, then your work is in vain, I won't leave with anything. So go, don't waste your time and stop following me!"

It seemed like Ben's warnings were useless, as those people only showed cold, expressionless faces, as if deaf.

Benjamin let out a long sigh. "I don't know why everyone is so annoying," Ben thought.

This man looked back at the faces of the people who were now moving closer to him

He didn't know why he felt uneasy this time, he felt that there was something wrong, something that the people who had been following him since earlier wanted, but he didn't know what.

"I have a bad feeling, and usually my predictions don't go wrong I need to leave without being followed," he thought, with a slow step back, and without a signal he ran, trying to leave behind the people who were now starting to chase him.

Benjamin knew very well that there was something these people wanted, and it could be that the Campbells wanted something even crazier than just Ben's departure.

Ben ran to the front door, but unfortunately he was alone and had to avoid all the home security guards who could have cooperated to arrest him.

While running, Benjamin thought of something, thinking of how he could get out of the house without getting caught

"I think I'll die if they catch me," he thought

Instantly Ben ran and hid behind a pillar of one of the corridors, and a servant with an empty tray just passed by him, whether he could be trusted or not, but Ben chose to call him.

"Come here," he called, making the servant turn around and nod.

Although confused, that servant still approached Ben who was behind a pillar in the corridor of this spacious house.

"What is it, sir?"

Ben pretended nothing had happened, he spoke calmly. "Take me to the back door, the one where the servants bring in and out the groceries!"

"You mean the kitchen door?" the servant asked, causing Ben to pause, then nod.

This servant seems to understand. "Alright, follow me, sir!"

As the servant led the way, Ben withdrew his hand. "One more thing, do you have a hat?"

This servant nodded.

"Give me that hat, and don't let anyone know I'm with you!" Ben ordered again.

The servant frowned. "What do you mean?"

"If you want to stay safe, don't tell them that I went through the kitchen door! Even if we get caught on CCTV,” Benjamin explained with a confident face and without fear of that servant betraying him and talking to the Campbells.

This servant still didn't understand, but Ben didn't have much time to explain it.

"Never mind, think about that later, now take me there immediately!" Ben ordered with his head turning left and right.

The servant led the way, taking Ben to the servant's dressing room, then walked over to the row of lockers, and opened one of his own.

He reached for something in the locker and then gave Benjamin his hat.

After that, he showed the way without ushering. "Out of here there will be a corridor that connects several doors of the kitchen where the chefs cook, choose the door at the end, there will be a path to the garage of the cars that bring the groceries, not far away from there there will be a gate, that's the way out."

Ben nodded and remembered the route. "Thank you very much, but what's your name?"

"Jack," he replied coldly.

"Thanks Jack, I won't forget your kindness," Ben smiled and gently patted the shoulder of the man in front of him.

"Listen to this! I'll be out first, after 5 minutes ... take your hat outside the gate." Ben smiled as he walked away.

Benjamin slipped away in a hurry, while it seemed that the people chasing him now knew that Ben had gone through the back door.

They all returned to the chase, with their communication devices; one of the leaders of the chase group ordered all the guards guarding the gate to close the access to the entrance and exit, both from the front and the back.

They wanted to trap Ben and didn't warft to let him escape, until they circled around, finding the hat lying outside the door.

That means … Ben managed to escape from there.

"This house instantly became a horrible place, and I had to stay as far away as I could."

Ben ran so fast again that his heart was beating irregularly and his breathing was uncontrollable.

"Thankfully, I was able to run and get away from that house," he muttered, walking with his hands on his hips

He was completely exhausted.

"I need a drink," he said, leaning against a wall on the darkest side of an office building.

Feeling safe, he searched for the nearest convenience store, just to get a bottle of water.

Now he was in front of the door of the beverage cooler, randomly grabbing a bottle of mineral water with not much thought, he opened the lid and took a glup.

It wasn't until he checked his pockets that he realized he didn't have a penny in there.

"Damn it, what should I pay with?" his eyes scanned, glancing at the cashier who seemed to be busy serving customers from her table, guiltlessly, he put the empty bottle back into the beverage cooler, and tried to leave quietly.

There was no intention of stealing, he just didn't have anything to pay for it.

He turned around and walked calmly between the shelves of food, but someone's voice was heard calling him. Ben's heart pounded and his body froze.

"Hey, where are you going?" this call sounded half shouted, making Ben swallow his saliva several times
