Chapter 3

Ryan ran and It was like he was out of breath, bending to his knees with his two hands.

He got to the location given to him, he spotted a Ford Explorer driving towards him. He stood still not to cause any problems.

The car parked some miles away from him, and a hefty man came out from the front seat of the car. He was dressed in a black suit and wore a black shade to cover his eyes. Ryan was a bit scared but had to summon the courage to face them.

He had skill in martial arts and he could defend himself in case of any conflicts.

The hefty man came closer to him, Ryan's eyes were roaming around the environment to be sure no other car or person was coming again.

“Are you R.B., did Andrew give you our package?” the man asked in a deep voice.

He looked at Ryan from head to toe, he was looking tattered and was breathing heavily.

“Yes.”He nodded intermittently .

“Can I take a look?” The man asked as he stretched his hand to collect the bag from Ryan.

He handed over the bag which contained the package to the man, the man grabbed it and looked inside the bag.

“I have sent the money to your boss, you can call him to confirm.”

Ryan picked up his phone from his pant pocket and dialed Andrew's number. After a few minutes, Andrew picked up the call.

“I have confirmed the payments,” Andrew said and hung up the call without allowing Ryan to utter a word.

“Confirmed,” Ryan said to the hefty man who gave him an evil look.

Ryan watched the man walk towards the car as he noticed someone sitting at the back of the car, he saw a hand with a ring. The ring looked familiar but he couldn't tell where he had seen it.

But that's not what matters to him, his major concern was to go back to Andrew's clubhouse to get the remaining balance for his uncle's surgery.

As the car zoomed off, Ryan walked back to Auburn Lane to the clubhouse.

He arrived at the clubhouse by 11 pm, looking exhausted and weak, his legs shaking.

His vision was getting blurred, he hadn't eaten throughout the day.

“I'm coming Uncle Mitchell, give me a little time, I'm coming with the money,” he said in his mind as he staggered.

When he got to the clubhouse entrance, the security refused to grant him access to go inside. He was not well dressed, still dressed with his work clothes and his Jack which he used to cover the delivery shirt and looked like a beggar.

“I'm here to see your boss Andrew.” He said softly.

The security looked at him, as he closed his nose from the smell coming from Ryan's direction.

Ryan looked around to see if there was another thing. He noticed it was him as another passer-by did the same thing.

‘I want to see your boss, Andrew,” he uttered again.

“Mr. Andrew is not around, he travelled,” the security guards replied.

His face reels with confusion, and his expression changes.

“What do you mean,” he yelled.

He checked his pants pocket for his phone, he took it out and dialled Andrew's number but it was not reachable.

He tried for several minutes again but it was still the same.

Ryan created a scene outside the clubhouse and people were looking at him.

One of the security guards called Andrew to report the incident.

“Hello boss, a man is outside the clubhouse. He said his name was Ryan and he wanted to see you. He is creating a scene here, what do we do?” the security guards boomed into the phone.

“Give him the phone,” Andrew ordered.

The security guards gave Ryan the phone as instructed.

“Hello Andrew, I have done what you asked me to do. Where is my balance.” He screamed into the phone.

“I have done it, go to the hospital.” He replied.

Ryan hung up the phone and handed it over to the security, he pushed the other security guards standing behind him, as he scurried towards the hospital road.

He ran as fast as he could, not minding about himself and if he would collapse.

*******

He got to the hospital and it looked quite like a graveyard. He couldn't find any nurse around the entrance desk.

He immediately skitters to the ward where his uncle was admitted. On his way to the room, He met the doctor whose face was filled with worries.

“Doctor, how is my uncle?” Ryan asked.

“My friend Andrew Murphy, sent the money to the hospital. How is the surgery.”

The doctor looked at the nurse who was standing behind him in confusion.

“We are sorry to say this, we tried our best but your uncle is dead and we didn't do any surgery, cause we didn't receive any money from anyone.” The Doctor said.

“What do you mean doctor, I was there when he sent the money. I can call him for you to confirm,” he said, as he gnashed his teeth.

He gave the doctor a cold look.

His eyes were brimming with anger and pain.

“Sorry, Mr. Ryan, we didn't receive anyone.” the doctor said, as he walked out from Ryan with the nurse towards his office.

His heart was tugging in pain, his expression was mixed with confusion and pain.

He moved towards the room and found his uncle was covered with clothes from head to toe.

He fell to his knees as he couldn't hold it anymore, drumming his finger on his lap.

The only family he had is no more.

He took his phone and dialed Andrew's number to confirm what the doctor told him.

After hesitating for a few minutes, Andrew picked up the call.

“Hello…..Hello……” Ryan screamed with anger.
