Chapter 5

The server interrupted the conversation,

“Sorry for the delay sir,” she said in an apologetic tone.

Ryan's eyes were fixated on Joseph as he wanted to know what he had to say before the lady interrupted.

But Joseph looked at the lady, signaling her to go. Before turning to continue his conversation with Ryan.

“What is the name of their son?” Ryan asked In curiosity.

“The name of their son is Ryan Baker," Joseph said.

Ryan gave a light laugh.

“I'm not the only Ryan baker in Brentwood, and there are other Ryan bakers out there who might have the same birthmark as mine and the same necklace," Ryan said.

“Mr. Fred Baker had the same birthmark on his left shoulder and he gave the necklace to his son when he was two years old,” Joseph said.

“Mine is on my right shoulder,” Ryan said.

“You are the real Ryan Baker, I have been following you for a while now.”

“You don't belong to the street, you belong in a place of power, affluence and wealth.” Joseph Said.

Ryan stared at him with confusion written boldly on his face.

“How do I know you are telling the truth?” Ryan asked.

Joseph Brought out a brown envelope from his suit pocket.

Ryan stared at him and was eager to know what was inside the envelope.

He opened the envelope and brought out the pictures of a man and a woman holding a baby.

Ryan glanced at the pictures.

“These are your parents, Mr and Mrs. Baker. And the baby is you Ryan,” Joseph said.

“This is the necklace, you are the true heir of the Baker family.”

“I don't believe you, sir,” Ryan said.

“How do you know everything about me?”

“I have worked for your parents for 25 years before you were born.”

Ryan looked at the man like he was speaking a foreign language he couldn't understand.

Ryan is twenty-two years old and he knew nothing about his parents or his family.

“Where are my parents?” Ryan asked, with his voice barely above a whisper.

“Your father died in a car accident and your mom is still alive waiting for you,” Joseph said.

“I will take you to her now if you want. She will explain better to you.”

“She will be happy to see you after 20 years, I can't wait to break the news to her.”

“Your family members will be happy to see you,” Joseph said.

“Family,” Ryan uttered.

Ryan was still not convinced by Joseph's statement, he looked at himself in disbelief.

“Uncle Mitchell never told me my parents were rich, he told me he found me on the street.” He said to himself.

“Let's go now, young master,” Joseph said as he stood up from his chair and bowed to Ryan.

Ryan looked at him in confusion, the same as the people in the restaurant.

People were murmuring from different corners of the restaurant.

Joseph placed some dollars on the table.

Ryan stood up from his chair and followed Joseph.

When they got outside the restaurant, Ryan looked at Joseph and was about to say something when three Range Rover Evoques stopped in front of them.

Ryan looked at Joseph who smiled at him as the other guards came down from the car and bowed for him.

“Welcome young master,” they uttered in unison.

He was shocked at what just happened, his eyes slightly observing the movements and utterings unfolding around him.

One of the guards walked towards him and bowed again.

“Welcome young master, I'm Nicolas. Your mom and grandfather will be happy to see you.” He mumbled.

“Let's go,” Joseph said as he ordered.

Ryan entered one of the Range Rover Evoque with Joseph who was seated beside him and Nicolas was seated in the front seat with the chauffeur.

Joseph ordered the driver to take them to a boutique so he could get cleaned up before taking him to the mansion.

After a few minutes they stopped in front of a boutique, and Joseph walked in with Ryan. Joseph met with the manager and ordered for the boutique to be closed for his young master and everyone should evacuate the building.

The manager did as he was instructed and everyone that came to the boutique was told to excuse the young master.

The security guards stood in front of the building so as not to let anyone inside. While Joseph, Nicholas and Ryan were inside the building.

The Boutique manager came outside and bowed to Ryan.

“Welcome to the stylista showcase, young master.” the manager said with his spanish accent.

Ryan nodded slightly.

“It seems like my parents are really rich but why did I grow up on the street?” he muttered inwardly.

He was taken to the other section of the boutique by the manager and shown to the bathroom where he freshened up before coming out to select his outfits.

After several efforts and hours, Ryan has made enough selections for himself.

He wore a classic navy single-breasted suit, he stood in front of a big mirror as he admired himself.

“You are looking good, young master.” The boutique manager said, with a smile on his face

Ryan looked at Joseph who shrugged his shoulders while Nicolas smirked at him.

“It's time to go, young master,” Joseph said after Nicolas whispered into his ears.

Nicolas quickly walked to the boutique cashier and made the payments for what they bought from the boutique.

They walked towards the boutique exits and entered their car. They zoomed off to the road leading to the Baker's mansion.

After a long drive to the mansion they finally arrived at the Bakers mansion. Ryan's eyes widened in surprise.

The mansion was too big, it was well-tiled, and it was like a heaven made on earth. The mansion was made of gold.

He saw different security guards standing at every point in the mansion and cameras were seen in every top corner of the building.

They stopped in front of the mansion where servants were standing holding gifts and floral baskets.

“Welcome home young master,” Joseph said.
