Xavier’s wedding was in a few hours and everyone was Busy trying to get things in order.Xavier paced from one corner of his room to the other. He was restless. He didn’t know what to expect. When he called Don Alfredo the previous evening, he had told him that he’d take care of everything and that he wouldn’t have to marry Lisa smith. He knew for certain now that someone was after his life.Xavier woke up from his troubled sleep. He had dark circles around his eyes. His sleep was plagued with nightmares. He hardly got any sleep. It didn’t help that he had had too much to drink. It turned out that his nightmares where actually memories from when he was little. His brother had just chosen a total stranger over his own nephew and had handed over his father’s legacy to someone else.‘I’m done playing nice Alfredo. He dialed it again and this time,someone picked up.“Hello, Nath can’t come to the phone right now, he’s busy.” A female voice spoke. Alfredo could barely hear what she said because there was so much noise at the background. HIS RESURGENCE CHAPTER 15Xavier and Don Alfredo’s flight landed in Los Angeles at midday. They had called the head office and informed them to set up a meeting with the board of directors before getting on the plane. Don Alfredo had also informed his security details to be at the airport waiting for them including some plain clothed cops.When they reached the airport, Don Alfredo’s driver parked across the road and waited for his boss to get in.Suddenly, a gunshot was fired. The shooter made use of a silencer so that the sound would not be traced back to him amidst the crowd but he was spotted by one of the cops. The bullet pierced Xavier in the chest. He was the shooter’s target.Xavier fell with a thud and soon, there was pandemonium in the airport. Passengers ran and scampered for safety. The cops and security team immediately went towards the direction of the shooter.Don Alfredo couched down and lifted Xavier up.“Get him inside the car!” He screamed at the remaining officer
