That evening, Calista looked radiant and elegant as she stood at the airport to welcome Mathis Huber—the man she believed to be superior to Rael Vinsion in every way.

And it wasn’t long until Mathis Huber arrived.

Oberon greeted Mathis warmly, shaking his hand.

“Welcome to Stonebridge, Young Master Huber.”

Mathis smiled arrogantly but still remembered his manners.

“Thank you for the warm welcome, Mr. Hanson.”

Calista chimed in, offering her brightest smile.

“You must be quite bored from the flight. Come with us for dinner.”

Mathis accepted Calista’s offer with ease as he took in her beauty with heavy breath.

“Sure.”

Calista beamed proudly as she introduced.

“The Draymont Royale Hotel is the finest in Noorhaven. We hope you have a good time.”

In fact, the hotel offered a breathtaking ambiance and the most exquisite dishes in the region.

And Calista believed no one would decline such a prestigious invitation.

At the same time, Mathis was silently crafting his plans for after his marriage to Calista.

He believed once he married Calista and took over Noorhaven, he would be a step closer to the cabinet.

After all, with the current GDP being 20 trillion, he believed it wouldn’t be long before he made it reach 30 trillion.

How difficult could it be, anyway?

Not long after, they arrived at the Draymont Royale Hotel.

Calista promptly led Mathis to an exclusive VVIP room.

Soon, an array of exquisite meals was placed before them.

It was no exaggeration to say the Draymont Royale was the most luxurious hotel in Noorhaven.

The cheapest grilled meat on the menu cost $30,000, and their dinner that night totaled an astonishing $300,000.

Meanwhile, the news of Calista and Oberon's arrival at the Draymont Royale Hotel quickly reached the restaurant manager.

Without delay, he made his way to the VVIP room.

He hope to greet Rael there.

However, when he looked into the VVIP room, the restaurant manager was surprised because he didn't see Rael.

With a courteous tone, he asked again, “Good evening, our honoured guests. By the way, may I know where Lord Vinsion is?”

However, to the manager’s surprise, his question caused Calista’s blood to boil instantly.

“Lord? What kind of Lord is he?” She sneered.

“How dare you mention that disgusting name in my presence?”

Calista’s voice rang out coldly, echoing in the room.

“Who is he to deserve a place in this room alongside me?”

The restaurant manager couldn’t comprehend what had just transpired.

“B—But, isn’t he your fiance, Miss?

What wrong was it if he asked her about Lord Vinsion’s whereabout?

If not for Lord Vinsion’s sake, why on earth would he come to greet them?

However, Calista had no idea what the restaurant manager was thinking.

Fueled by her anger, Calista lashed out in disdain.

“Not anymore!”

“Rael Vinsion is nothing more than a stray dog fed out of the Hanson family’s pity!”

She chuckled bitterly, her tone dripping with mockery.

“Oh, or do you actually believe all those ridiculous rumors? About how great he supposedly is?”

She laughed, the sound sharp and derisive.

“Let me enlighten you. Without the Hanson family, he has absolutely nothing!”

The restaurant manager couldn’t help but frown deeply.

'So the Hansons had betrayed Lord Vinsion?'

'So they were getting rid of Lord Vinsion after all he had done for Noorhaven?'

The restaurant manager secretly disdained but thought it wise to remain silent.

However, his stillness only emboldened Calista to escalate her insults further.

“Rael is just a loser living off the crumbs we throw at him.”

“Do you think someone like him is truly deserving of respect? You’d have to be a fool to believe that!”

Isn’t he supposed to be a majestic eagle?”Damarion emphasized, “The reality is, managing a state isn’t as easy as boasting, Mr. Hanson.”“The administration of Noorhaven with or without Lord Vinsion would be vastly different.”“If Lord Vinsion leaves Noorhaven, he wouldn’t lose a thing and would still thrive.”“On the contrary, if Noorhaven were abandoned by Lord Vinsion, the entire state would collapse!”Frustrated, Oberon slammed his hand on the table

"Ugh, the dungeon is disgusting. Lord Vinsion really doesn’t deserve to be there!"However, Rael didn’t mind where he slept. "Don’t worry, Mr. Myers.""I’ll be fine wherever I am."Joel didn’t mean to belittle the man before him. It was just that someone as remarkable as Rael shouldn’t be breathing in the foul air of a dungeon, let alone staying there. With regret, Joel replied, "My Lord, the dungeon is filthy, smells bad, and is suffocating.""It’s completely unfit for you."Still, Rael remained firm. "It’s fine."Just as Joel was about to speak again, Rael raised his hand as if to st

Deep down, Joel hoped that this small gesture he had done for Rael would make his stay in the dungeon a bit more comfortable.Rael nodded. “You’ve worked too hard, Mr. Myers.”Joel quickly shook his head. “Not at all, My Lord. It’s nothing.”“In fact, I still regret that I couldn’t get you out of the dungeon and provide you with a better place to stay.”Rael smiled. “I appreciate your efforts, Mr. Myers.”“I’ve already told you, haven’t I? It was evident he had thoroughly enjoyed his night with Calista. As Mathis entered the dining room, he saw Oberon had prepared breakfast for him.Oberon greeted him warmly, "Young master, please join me.""You must be very tired and need to replenish your energy."Mathis simply smiled and approached the dining table, feeling his hunger take over.Perfect. A considerate father-in-law was all he needed.Mathis thought as he reached for a mug of milk.Taking a sip, however, he immediately spat it out, his face contorted in disgust. The milk was both scalding hot and oddly sour."Damn it!" He cursed under his breath. He then grabbed a piece of bread, hoping to salvage his breakfast. But as he bit into the bread, his eyebrows furrowed involuntarily.'Is this really fresh bread?' What’s the reason for calling so early in the morning?”“I need your presence this afternoon. I’m planning a major raid on several of Rael’s properties in the Gold Throne district.”“From the information I’ve gathered, these properties are being used as hideouts for... well, Rael’s mistresses.”At that moment, Mathis grinned widely, feeling confident about exposing Rael’s secrets to the public. He added, “This is a massive scandal, Mr. Myers! I truly expect your participation.”After discussing a few details of the plan, the call came to an end.Could what Mathis said be true?Curious and conflicted, Joel couldn’t help but

This event sent waves of uncontrollable joy through Mathis’ chest. However, he tried to remain calm.Mathis began to resume his role of bringing down Rael. He started acting with a sad expression on his face.“I’m sad to say so, but it’s truly unfortunate that the evidence is genuine.”“This is completely unacceptable!”“How could an official casually purchase luxury properties and then indulge in the company of so many women without stealing from the state’s funds?”“Is that even possible?”“If Rael is truly not involved with many prostitutes and supporting so many mistresses of his, then how can there be routine transactions of thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars to these women?”“Meanwhile, the people pay taxes to make Noorhaven a better place.”“But unfortunately, corrupt officials have ruined the trust of the people!”Mathis placed his hand over his chest, as if deeply disappointed and saddened.“It turns out that we’ve all been deceived by the holy mask of Rael Vinsio
