Through the woods.
"You've not been yourself!"
The Princess complained, holding unto one of Aynea's hands.
"Aynea be pity all the warriors."
The Dryad replied without looking at the princess. The bickers of the warriors marching behind them was heightened enough to swallow their conversation.
The both of them were walking before the troop of a thousand warriors behind them. Before them was the group of Prium on horses and the commander of the warriors appointed by the King of Aoiwa. The King didn't bother to follow them. He had left them both in the care of the commander of the warriors and Aynea's.
"Why do you pity a thousand warriors? Do you think the odds isn't at our own favor?!"
The Princess argued further but then the Dryad took a glance at her and scoffed,
"If it be Athena truly, hundred thousand warriors are but dried twigs before her."
The Princess hated to give up.
Outside the Palace. I CHÓRA TOU VULCAN."Welcome, grateful Warriors and of course, leaders."Athena started, standing before the troop of warriors. Vulcan was standing beside her and few of the guards were behind both the queen and the king."Who shall I address in person. I can see here, Prium, a sorcerer, the commander of the warriors of Aiowa, Hava and Ivan."As still as her tone was her face. She didn't seem disturbed, neither bedazzled. She only picked each of those she had mentioned in her gaze occasionally. You can tell by the widening of Vulcan's eyes that he had no faintest idea what she was doing. And everyone whose name she had mentioned were plunged into their own worries, pondering on how she had figured out their names."We have come to destroy your kingdom, witch!"The commander spewed, ogling Athena. Athena chuckled and took few steps forward as Vulcan hurried to catch up with her.
In the woods.~Tahni and Ayla~"I heard that your sister's plan went down the drain."Ayla traced her left foot through the fallen leaves scattered about the path."It's becoming hard to choose who my family is now. I guess it's time for me to find a good man and make a family for myself."Tahni's face glued to the front were not interested in the Nymph's gay. The both of them were walking through the woods."How about your mother? Isn't she no longer of worth to you."Tahni stopped abruptly,"What's of worth to you, Ayla?"Ayla halted too and turned to Tahni, whose expression was ambiguous,"Getting Vulcan to be mine, then carrying his child."Tahni scoffed,"You know that that is a mere illusion. It's just a wish, something that's very much far from reality. You really think you can mess with Athena?"Ayla looked past her to the bark of the tree few metres beh
Before a Cave.~Prium~"This must be it."Twas more of a convincing statement than an expression. She was all alone, standing before the enormous cave. She stood there for a while looking from the mouth of the cave to the very end from the right then to the left."What if this is a trick? What if no one is here? How did I even get to find this place?"She kept on arguing with her instinct, as the wandering winds swept past her, fallen but dried leaves. She heard the call of a raven and tried to figure out from where twas calling but she missed. She suddenly heard the snapping of tree behind her. She spun around at once. She looked towards the direction she was sure the sound came from. She was lucky, there was a raccoon eating an egg."An egg?"Her eyes widened."From where did it get an egg?"She argued."Shouldn't it be eating a frog instead?"Her voice b
I CHÓRA TOU VULCAN"I welcome you all to this call of importance and of course, need."Athena started, standing before the heap of villagers. The numbers of villagers had drastically increased. You could call that the aftermath of the ought-to-be but was-not war.It had been said that several other people from different remote settings who had gone into hide when the king of the land was killed and the invaders swooped in returned. People who wanted a ruler who could save them and be there for them. And none of them seemed to find a better ruler other than the glorious Athena."I should start by taking into account your loyalty and how efficient you all have been since these past few days. Even majority of you had gone to the extent of bringing in many of your families and friends because you think it right that I rule you. Because you place your trust in me even in the face of opposition."She paused again. The sil
In the woods. ~A group~ "Do you think she speaks the truth?" "What does it matter, whether or not twas the truth. We all saw it with our own eyes." "What if she really made us see what we wanted to see? What if it's all her plan all along. You can't be so foolproof to the plans of a witch." The third man chuckled and played the sole of his old cum torn sandal through the dirt surrounding him. "Are we still talking about her being a witch? What do you even know about the art of witchery? Did you really think that witches do not have their own limitations? You think all they wish to do is at their disposal? If so, why then do we have demons, familiar spirits, magical creatures and the gods? You're an old man, why do you speak as those youth whose intelligence had been smothered by booze?" The man who was being addressed sprung to his feet, "What did you just say? Do you want to die?" The
In a Cave.~The Princess and Aynea~"What should be become of us now?""You meant what will?"Aynea corrected, looking past the seemingly worried princess to the cold wall with stripes of brown and green scattered all over it. Many believed that the rock had lived several years before the existence of men. The Israelites believed that Nine hundred and Seventy-four generations existed before ours. And such stories did take the fancies of the Dryad."I could tell you several stories you've never heard about and we could make a travel away from this troubled land. Don't you think?"Aynea had added, now measuring the degree of mirth confounded by confusing splattered across the princess' face."You shouldn't had been that loyal to Athena despite the fact that she is authentic. We could had taken over the kindgom and send her running.""And then what?"Aynea tackled."Of course tak
I CHÓRA TOU VULCAN~The King and Queen~"Are you sure that was Poseidon? I do not mean to pervert your judgement or ridicule your words of course. But I'm just worried that setting the people on a verge for what we're not really sure about could be detrimental to both us and them."Vulcan took a break, taking a peek at his queen, his love, his woman, Athena. They were standing before the huge gate of the city which had recently been changed. The ramparts were under construction, and the borders of the village were the large forest to the West, rows of mountains to the East, the large lake to the North, and the desert of bones to the South. You could say that the settlement was a plague or Completion of existence in itself. But many of the people living in the land had no faintest idea of the desert of bones and the large lake.Everyone knew about the forest but only few knew about the rows of mountains. The f
In the woods.~Prium and Miargos~"Don't you think this is Madness?"Miargos' pace behind her gave her a sense of freedom, yet the stalker would not stop getting on her nerves. She spun around at him and yelled,"You know what madness is? Madness is you following me around. Following me about like a leech, whose anterior sucker connects to its host, giving it a lofty benefit to be stuck on the skin for as long as it wants."The fact that she halted was like a blessing to him. He had learnt to see beyond her bickers and indifference. He had learnt from his father that one's first love is like a gun put to your temple, whose trigger had been bothered. Just a movement of the finger and off the bullet goes, eating through the skin, crunching bones. Every obstacles in its way tantamount to bygone. He had been able to make just an iota of sense from that Maxim. And most times, he had knuckled under the fact that his
