I looked out through the bars from where I sat on the bed, trying to catch a glimpse of the newcomer.

“Whoa… This place is incredible!” the stranger said in a bubbly, yet clearly masculine, voice, his tone similar to that of an excited kid on a field trip.

“Indeed,” the warden said evenly, before seeming to continue a conversation she’d been having with the stranger outside, “as the external access to the storeroom is unneeded for this shipment, I would have you bring in the cargo through the main entrance and leave it here in the central room.”

The clicks of her heels silenced as she came into view. She stopped at the edge of the lounge’s carpet, then turned to face the stranger.

The stranger followed her, his head swiveling around with wide-eyed interest as he took in Stone Lock’s main room. My attention locked onto him with intrigue equal to his curiosity in the strange prison.

Tall and lean, the stranger had a youthful face and a head of pure white hair he wore short and ti

The bars to my cell sank into the ground as the entrance to Stone Lock groaned shut and the lock engaged with a powerful clunk. “Is he gone?” I asked, walking towards the warden, meeting her next to the neat stack of crates halfway between the entrance to the prison and the lounge at the center of the massive open room. “Yes, I watched his wagon disappear over the horizon,” she said, her voice and body softening with relief. “What was with that guy? One second he was all fidgety and nervous, then he got all weird for a second, then didn’t say a word the whole time he was stacking boxes. And why did you tell me to not look at him?” I asked, the thoughts that’d been building in me for hours finally spilling out. “I have a suspicion as to who he was, but I ask that you allow me to verify my suspicions first, as giving voice to my speculations would only cause unneeded worry…I’ve reached out to someone who owes me a favor in Platys about our visitor and we should have an answer before

  • Harem Ethics 101   52. Building Spiritual Defenses

I’d lost track of time sitting silently with the warden, but after a while my thoughts had started to align and the warden slid off of me, seemingly satisfied I’d returned to my usual state of mind. Between the couch and the table, the warden stood over me. “Come, Bryan.” She ran her fingers through my hair as she rounded the couch and walked towards the crates. I rose and went after her, coming to a stop beside her next to the cargo the stranger had unloaded. There were four stacks of crates, with each stack being only two wood boxes high. However, next to those stacks was a lone open crate; the one the warden had been digging around in when I’d woken up after getting a boot to my head. “After our guest left and I was forced to subdue you, I noticed that the lid of this crate was slightly askew. And upon closer inspection, I found it to be loose enough to open without the use of tools,” the warden said, simmering anger rising in her voice. “I suspected this crate to be purposeful

  • Harem Ethics 101   53. Rune Stylus

The warden retrieved a smooth, rectangular wooden box large enough to hold a railroad spike from the open crate and offered it to me. “What is it?” I asked as I opened the sleek box. Inside was a rod made from what looked to be dull silver that was about eight inches in length. One side ended in a fine point, while the other end was smooth and rounded. It’s like a fat metal pencil… “It’s a ‘rune stylus’. It’s what allows alchemists to create the runes which make amalgams and constructs possible.” “So… with this I could make something like a sun shard?” I asked, gesturing with the stylus towards the glowing crystal hanging above us, excitement rising in my voice. The warden nodded in reply. “And so much more,” she said through a grin. For the first time since the warden had taken off her button-up, thoughts of reaching out to grope her tits through her black sports bra or bending her over the crate completely vacated my mind. “What kind of limitations are there? Could any normal o

  • Harem Ethics 101   54. Etching a Rune

“The actual act of etching a rune is rather simple,” she said as she flexed her hand into a fist and crushed the flame crystalized spirit. The falling shards of the crystal disintegrated into the nothingness before hitting the lounge carpet. But the glowing red vapor that’d been within the crystalized spirit remained in her fist as wisps of energy leaked from between her fingers. I stared unblinkingly at her fist, transfixed by the process. “Once you’ve broken its crystalline form to release the spirit contained within, all you need to do is will the spirit into the rune stylus before the spirit fades away…” She opened her hand, and the luminescent red mist flowed into the metal rod held in her other hand. As it did, the tip of the stylus started to glow red hot. “Once the stylus is primed, you will have a few minutes to use the spirit you’ve channeled into it before it dissipates… which is as simple as…” She leaned towards the bullet and scrawled a small symbol into the casing. “.

As we crossed the large, open central chamber of Stone Lock, the warden swung by the couch to root around in one of the pockets of her coat. She fished out a simple silver chain with a few dime-sized, circular charms hanging from it, after which she carelessly tossed the black garment back to the furniture from whence it came. I looked over her shoulder at the jewelry. “What’s that?” “Echo chain,” she replied as she looped it a few times around her wrist and snapped the clasps at either end together. The charms jingled lightly as she lifted her wrist to rest atop her bare shoulder to give me a better look. “As you know, it allows for long distance communication… Unfortunately, though, I dislike wearing it all the time and keep it in my coat pocket for ease of access when I require it… as such I sometimes forget to put it on when I take off my coat.” “Do the charms mean anything?” I gently ran a thumb over one of the charms and inspected the symbol of a simple leaf etched into it.

  • Harem Ethics 101   56. What Do You Think About Harems?

In the dining room, the warden and I sat side-by-side at the long table. The light of the sun shard hanging from the ceiling like a chandelier illuminated the room in a warm glow. Our plates were mostly empty, while our cups of juice were still half full. And through infinitely smooth conversational navigation, I’d managed to turn the topic of conversation towards something I had mentally filed away the day I arrived at Stone Lock: The degenerate reputation outworlders have made for themselves in Thaessa. “I mean… it can’t be that bad, right?” I grinned at the warden, elbow atop table and my face resting against my knuckles. “I suppose it’s not any one thing, but more about how almost all outworlders are slaves to their baser urges,” the warden said through a quiet, chiming laugh. “Go on…” I said, half-jokingly playing into the outworlder stereotype by leering openly at her pushed up cleavage. She still hadn’t put on her coat, meaning she still only wore the black sports bra, tight

  • Harem Ethics 101   57. Hypothetically, Of Course

A pale blush rose in the warden’s cheeks when I’d teasingly asked her whether or not she’d join my harem if I started one. She looked away for a moment and lightly bit her lower lip in what appeared to be a seemingly unconscious reaction to the question, because in the next instant she hurriedly stopped biting her lip and remade eye contact with me. “For the sake of curiosity, let’s say that, hypothetically, I was interested in joining you in such an arrangement… What are these ‘ground rules’ you mentioned?” The corners of her mouth curled up into a small coy smile as she spoke, her tone quiet, but rich with tentative curiosity.Taken aback by the lack of giggling teasing in her response, I stared at her in stunned silence, heart racing. I honestly hadn’t thought all too much about being with other women while I’d been at Stone Lock with the warden. Being with her made me happier than I’d been in what felt like forever, and I would have been more than happy to fully commit to her al

As I fully wrapped my mind around the implications of what ‘variety’ looked like on her side of things, an undercurrent of annoyance buzzed in my core at the idea of the warden being with other men.I crossed my arms and leaned back in my chair as I let out an exasperated groan. The question was so obvious, and the answer to it so thoroughly ingrained into me, that it didn’t even cross my mind to consider it. I’m an idiot… This definitely shifts it back towards being a harem… but it also makes it basically impossible to morally justify because there’d be a double standard. “I wouldn’t be alright with other men joining…” I admitted.“So, it would seem this is more closely aligned with a harem, no? As there would be a rule to ensure that you would be the only man the women in the harem would be permitted to be intimate with or form a romantic connection with?”“Yeah, I guess that does make it more like a harem, seeing how it’s a double standard… but it’s not something I can budge on,

“What do you mean?” I asked, thinking I knew already, but wanting to hear her say it to avoid any possibility of misunderstanding. “What kind of game?”. “A game where we can explore darker urges,” she said, eyes and voice smoldering with arousal. “For you see, on occasion it can be fun to allow someone to feel that rush of power all people secretly want.” My cock demanded action as my guts surged with excited energy, and my mind agreed. I grinned at her. Want to play at being a nice submissive demi-empyrean for me?” Holding my gaze, she slipped her hand from mine and rose from her seat. Her bare feet padded lightly against the floor as she took a few paces away from me. I shifted in my seat and watched her. Focus going to the window framed by her wings to enjoy the way her hips and skirt swayed with her steps. I only caught hints of its outline because of the loose lower half of the sundress, but need surged as I thought of the juicy, firm ass I knew awaited me. My cock flexed

    MegaNovel Discord and Release Schedule

Hey, folks. I'll be hanging out on the MegaNovel Discord. Feel free to let me know what you think about the book. Or about whatever else... argue with me about the sex ethics of the characters in the book, tell me you want to focus on story, more sex scenes, more talking, or if you want to just chat about whatever. I also take requests for scenes and might work them in if I can make them fit. As for my release schedule. I'm working on another project right now (it's going to be a traditional novel and be released elsewhere), but my plan is to work on Harm Ethics when I can. So I'll try and get a chapter or two out when I find time to write it. Thanks for reading this far!

    174. What Do You Think of Harems, Lysandra?

Sitting beside Lysandra at the long dining table, our hands clasped its surface, my heart quickened as I stared into her glowing amber eyes. This was it. She was going to agree to join the harem. A coy smile curled her lips. “The general rules I remember, but I would like a deeper understanding of this harem before I submit myself to yours and Saelia’s judgment of whether I am accepted as a full member.” My desire to cement mine and Saelia’s relationship with Lysandra pulsed in my heart and mind. She seemed to want to play games though… Or was this some kind of final reality check to see if she could accept everything that went with being part of the harem? My already stiff cock throbbed as though threatening me with vengeance if I didn’t seal the deal. I wanted her bad… but it’d break mine and Saelia’s hearts if she grew resentful and angry being in the harem. So I needed her to be absolutely certain she wanted to join. “What do you think of harems, Lysandra?” I asked. “Reall

    173. Obvious to Anyone and Everyone

Lysandra shifted uncomfortably across from me at the long dining table of Stone Lock. My rebuttal to her demand that I tell Saelia I loved her by telling her she should do the same seemed to put her on edge. “The past few days she’s been so unwell,” she said, uncertainty slipping into her eyes, “and I’ve admittedly been uncertain if I can fully recommit my heart to her as well.” “What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked, suppressing frustration at seeing her dawdling at the finish line when they were so close to patching things up.” Lysandra furrowed her brow, seeming to consider how to best answer my question. Feeling like I was diffusing a bomb and one wrong suggestion might make her overthink everything, I carefully prodded further. “Look, I don’t know exactly what happened between you two, but is it really something you don’t feel like you can’t move past?” A spark of emotion came to life in her amber eyes, and she pursed her lips. After considering for a moment longer, she si

    172. There's Something You Must Do

Over the next three days, Lysandra had used me like a sexual chew toy to relieve her frustration over Saelia not letting us sleep in her room and my deflections when asked why. Fortunately, though, this frustration didn’t bleed into her dedication to her mission to improve my proficiency with my left hand and my ability to conjure items under pressure. Saelia had mostly slept, but came down like she promised whenever she was awake. During this time, she’d mostly recovered from her spiritual overdraft, and with this, she gradually returned to being her usual cheery self. Part of me was relieved to see her mood lift. However, my worry for her had not eased, because she still hadn’t told me what’d happened in New Venice. Waiting had been frustrating, but this morning Lysandra had said she believed Saelia would likely be fully recovered by the time dinner rolled around. Tonight was the night… I just wished I could fast forward time to get there faster. Lysandra, Saelia, and I sa

    171. Rush

Lysandra charged at me from across the far side of Stone Lock’s main room. The excitement and burning power in her eyes made my heart thunder in my chest as flustered panic grew in me. Unlike Saelia, Lysandra didn’t zigzag or attempt anything resembling a tactical approach. Instead, she simply rushed towards me like a raging bull. I leveled the barrel of my gun and unloaded all six rounds into her. Each hit created splatters of glowing blue liquid on her chest, stomach, shoulder, and cheek. By the time I’d fired my last bullet, she’d closed the distance between us to no more than ten feet. There wouldn’t be time to reload, so I dropped the gun. As the empty firearm fell, I tossed the wooden breacher from my non-dominant left hand to my right. But before my fingers could even wrap around the handle, Lysandra was in arm’s reach. She swiped at me lazily with a slow hook. Just grabbing my dagger in time, I ducked the attack, feeling as thought I’d just dodged a baseball bat despite

    170. Cozy Library

The declaration that she wanted to train had caught me off guard, considering we’d almost died last night, but when I’d processed what she’d said, a smile curved my lips. With the entrance exam for Chromaryn Academy approaching and after getting my ass beat by Faelius and Mark, I was determined to get stronger. So, when the angelic woman told me she wanted to train, I’d deferred feeing her until later and instead bubbled with eager excitement as I followed her from the library. Because I’d forgotten to ask for permission to unlock the front door to Stone Lock, Lysandra and I had settled for the open space between the entrance and the lounge. The warm light of the constellation of sun shards hanging from the stone ceiling felt like afternoon sunshine on my skin. I wore conjured black combat fatigues, boots, and a t-shirt. The only part of my armor I wore was my belt and gun holster. I hadn’t yet gotten around to cleaning the blood and grime off the rest. About half a dozen feet

    169. Cozy Library

Closing the door behind me, I stepped into Stone Lock’s cozy library. At the room’s center, Lysandra sat at a table beneath a cluster of sun shards hanging from the ceiling. Book in hand, her eyes trailed across the pages as she read. When I entered, her attention slid to me. “She is asleep, right?” “Yup, out cold. She said she’ll come down whenever she wakes up.“ I pulled out a chair and sat down at the square table. Remembering my promise to Saelia not to tell Lysandra about our conversation, I tried to steer the conversation in a different direction. My mouth curved into a teasing grin at the angelic woman and I nodded at the book. “‘The Needful Elf’? You and Saelia really do enjoy cultured literature.” “Yes, I do. What is it to you?” she said, a hint of sheepish defensiveness coloring her expression. “Nothing,” I said with a small chuckle. “You just don’t seem like the type.” “Oh? What ‘type’ am I?” she asked, a hint of annoyance and challenge creeping into her voice.

    168. You Won't Understand...

Sitting next to Saelia in the pitch blackness of her room, I stared at her blindly. “That’s not true!” The incredulous response from my heart bypassed my brain and rushed straight out of my mouth. “Mark doesn’t know shit!” “No, he does…” Frustrated anger simmered in me. It threatened to boil over at the way she was talking about herself, but I managed to stifle the urge to righteously dismiss the ridiculous claims. Instead, I attacked the root of the problem. “What happened in New Venice is the reason you won’t use your Scorcher magic, right?” Wimpers leaked from her as her effort to control her voice wavered. “Yes…” “It’s the reason you feel like this?” “Yes…” “Alright, tell me what happened. I’ll tell you after if I think you’re a monster or not.” “Please… Don’t make me do this…” My heart tensed at the quivering fear in her exhausted voice, but I pressed forward. “I don’t think you’re a monster… but this seems to be the only way I can think of to convince you of it.” “Y
