“No… really?” I said with exaggerated sarcasm at hearing I couldn’t bring my gun with me to go shopping for adventuring supplies.

She bumped her hip playfully against me before leaning against the backrest of the lounge’s couch next to me.

“Indeed,” she giggled before her tone took on a teasing quality as well, “and I hope I don’t need to tell you to keep your hands to yourself while we’re away from Stone Lock. While it is unlikely for you to be discovered as an outworlder, drawing unnecessary attention would still be unwise.”

“Uh-huh…” My mouth curved up into a wide grin as an idea formed at her words. “So, since we’re trying to avoid too much attention, we should probably decide on a cover relationship in case someone asks. It’d be awfully suspicious if we had to scramble to make something up on the spot.”
