Chapter 4: A wicked Surgeon

The Witch laughed out loud while staring at her.

“Hell on Earth?, What a nice name for your current situation”, the Witch's face beamed with smiles as she stared at the confused pregnant lady, who had a “How did you know what was on my mind” expression on her face.

She could hear her thoughts and her hidden plan but that was never going to happen even if she slept off as a result of exhaustion from the ritual.

Still, the lady was never going to make it out alive, she backed up her thoughts with a confident look on her face. The lady could feel cold shivers around her spine.

She couldn't help but swallow so hard. Tears dripped down her face as she stared at the woman who held her life in her palms.

The Witch looked resolute and confident in actualizing her plan of killing her. Making her drink the worm-filled liquid was just the tip of the iceberg, she had things up her sleeves.

Not knowing what might happen next, she decided to reminisce about the beautiful experiences she had so far. How she met her heartbeat, Henry, the beautiful memories they made.

She remembered her first trip to the beach, henry made it a memorable one for her as they arrived late in the evening, played around, swam on the bank of the ocean, and had a good time.

Slowly everyone left the beach and it was just Monica and Henry. “Yes Monica is my name”, she shook her head as though she was assuring someone that her name is Monica.

Tears dripped down the corners of her face as she remembered how they sat alone at the beach, watching the clear skies and making lifetime wishes.

Henry excused himself and left her alone for a while, she spotted the shooting star and made a wish. “I wish we become more than friends too, I love him, and I want to reciprocate the feeling, dear shooting star, please free me of my fears and grant my little wish”.

Monica sincerely hoped that things will only get better from here. Henry came back and they talked about a few things and watched the sky and the moon together.

She also remembered when he asked her out the fifth time and she gladly accepted. Her joy knew no bounds, that day, was a memory she'd forever cherish.

The day she said yes, was one of the happiest moments of her life, thinking of it brought nothing but smiles to her face, it was indeed a memorable experience.

She remembered how they stuck together for years, how he always supported her, if she had fans then he's her number 1 fan.

She smiled bitterly when she remembered their first night together after their wedding. Her fantasies came to the reality that night, The heavy breathing, hands intertwining, and the moaning sounds that escaped their lips.

They rode to the point of pleasure.

It was a great feeling that resulted in her baby bump. Henry screamed with joy after realizing that he was going to be a father. He kissed his wife affectionately and thanked her for conceiving.

He was going to behold his flesh and blood, it made him feel complete and fulfilled in life. She smiled bitterly upon realizing that all their dreams were going to be short-lived.

She had no idea what to do to remedy the situation, Monica didn't know how she got to this shrine and why this scary woman tormented her badly.

Monica knew it, she had little or no chance of getting out of here alive, but she was going to fight, for her life, for her baby, and also because she badly wanted to go back home to her husband, the one whom she treasured the most.

“And he lived sadly ever after!!“, The Witch exclaimed and immediately tore her shirt, bringing an end to Monica's lovey-dovey memories.

Feeling drained and empty, Monica could only move her lips.

She begged to be spared but the Witch smiled at her, wickedly. She had no intention of sparing her.

After tearing her shirt, the witch circled Monica while chanting something inaudibly. She came to a halt and stared at her belly.

She waved her hand and her minion placed a scalpel in her hands.

Monica screamed in pain as the witch dissected her. She opened her and separated the two parts of her belly with her elongated fingers.

She dug into her, thereby piercing her in various areas. She got to the womb and singlehandedly brought out the baby.

She cleaned him up and kept him at a spot.

She left Monica open and gave her a wicked look that says, “die slowly”.

Monica lay sideways trying to behold her baby, her and henry's midnight gift.

The Witch touched the baby and made sure he was alive. She took him to the mirror and the phalanges appeared again.

She placed him in the dark and evil-looking phalanges who disappeared with the baby. Monica screamed and cried out loud shouting, “My baby! my baby!”.

She shouted so much and blood began to drip down her belly. The Witch laughed hysterically and after some time, the baby came back.

She dropped the baby at a spot and glanced at Monica who barely looked like a human being. She went to her pot of blood and scooped up the blood inside her black bowl.

She bathed the child with the blood of a dead man, her faithful and loyal servant who had now migrated to the land of ghosts. She washed his face, hands, and entire body with the blood of her servant.

Her minions stared wickedly at the baby and the open-bellied Monica who did nothing but scream and cry.

The Witch acted cold and indifferent while bathing the baby, to her it was just like painting a candle in red.

Monica cried and stretched out her hands, screaming, gesturing to the witch to give her back her baby.
