There in front of me stood Todd and parked at the curb was his white windowless van. It was still settling at the curb, ticking and groaning from the laborious drive to my house. Before my parents could see the middle-aged balding fat man at our door that had come to our house looking for me, their teenage daughter, I stepped outside and pulled the door closed behind me. The green coup was still revving its engine but was suspended in mid-air by someone just out of my view.
Todd was panting, I did not know if it was from the run to my door from the curb or if he was in fear that the green demon driven car was trying to crush us under its weight. Looking past Todd, I tried to see who was driving the green demon car but my view through the windshield was blocked by all of the fiery smoke that had been bellowing around on the interior of the car. Todd continued to quickly check behind him as it seemed he was not sure if the demon car was going to b
Todd stood with us, hands tucked into his cargo shorts pockets as the sweat boiled from his pores, running sprints down his face, and dropping to the ground with an oddly satisfying drip. It was very obvious that he was deeply thinking about what had just happened and that he had clearly connected the dots in regard to Sarah Macly and her permanent dwelling in hell since the return of the rescue team during our mission. Jennifer and Scotty swooned at one another, young love being what it is, as we all tried to return our minds to normal after the green demon car attack featuring Sarah Macly. There was no telling when the next demon attack would come, they have been fast and furious lately. The constant barrage of attacks has taken a toll on all of us, but we had to stay vigilant and possibly make a plan to help one another so that no one in the alliance would grow tired and become more s
My heart was sinking deep down into my stomach as I paced closer to the car accident that involved Scotty and Jennifer. Smoke whisked into the air, dancing away until it disappeared. My eyes had yet to lock onto the other car, but I was certain there was actually another vehicle involved in this crash. Cars do not just implode in the middle of the road for no reason, especially considering the amount of damage. It looked as if Scotty had driven directly into a brick wall at one hundred miles per hour. Over the noise of the hissing and popping of the crashed car, I could hear Todd’s jalopy squeaking and bouncing up behind me. That thing certainly needed some tender loving care, especially on the suspension components. I was not prepared for what I could potentially see, but they needed help and I was not about to turn around
While Todd was consoling Jennifer, I was left in the middle of the street fighting off Sarah Macly in her demon form. I had already killed her once which resulted in her being sent back to hell. She was able to respawn herself around the corner with her green demon car. Cautious and calculated, she waited patiently for one of us to come around the corner so she could cause some sort of irreparable damage. Unlucky for Jennifer and Scotty Geraldy, they were next around the corner. Scotty, God rest his soul, had passed away from the massive amount of damage that a car’s engine can do when it is pushed through the firewall and placed in the driver’s lap without remorse. His entire lower body had been turned to mush, flesh and bone, mixed together into a puddy-esque form. I had never seen such a massive amount of dama
Thinking quickly on my feet was one of my strong suits. I had the ability to problem solve almost anything in a matter of minutes, unlike most humans that took days or weeks to work out the details. That being said, I was a touch slow in this situation, battling a demon and being a little slow did not mix well for me. Sarah needed to be captured alive but was it worth the risk of getting fireballed by her again? Jackson had indeed provided the much-needed distraction for me, this prompted me to rush in and try to get a hold of demon Sarah. Unfortunately for me, she was able to sense my oncoming attack and turned back to me just before I arrived at her body with the ferociousness of a pouncing tiger. She quickly strafed to the side, and I flew right past her. I skidded across the asphalt, tearing up my elbows and knees. I was definitely going to have some scars. Jennifer and Jackson looked on as Sarah worked up a huge fireball
Jennifer placed Sarah down on the grass right below my bedroom window, she did not set her down softly. Sarah released a massive moan and began breathing very fast, trying to regain her wind. The ground actually reverberated when Jennifer laid her down, that was how much force she used to get Sarah off her back. None of us were concerned by this, she deserved it and much, much more. I was trying to make a plan in my head that would make sense to allow us to get Sarah up into my room through the window without risking falling from the chalice. I highly doubted the chalice was going to be able to support the weight of one of us carrying Sarah. We had a few options, most of which would not be logical and would most certainly result in a failed attempt. On the ground, Sarah was squirming and moaning, she was fighting against the rope she was tied up with. She was wrapped so much; it would be impossible even with some
It had already been a long day and it was not even noon yet. We had suffered a loss of life and that burden fell on me. The longer I sat on my bed with nothing to distract me from my real-world problems, the more apparent that loss of life became my doing. Maybe if I had not zapped Sarah Macly when we were down in hell rescuing my little brother, maybe if I had asked a question to Nurse Helen before just blindly following her execution order. Maybe if I were just a good person, that would have solved this problem. Jennifer had lost her first ever true boyfriend. Scotty Geraldy had been killed because Sarah Macly sought revenge on me for causing her to remain in hell leading to her massacre. If there was some other way, something that could have solved our problems without singling out Sarah, this could all be avoided.
My mind fought to shake the image of Jackson exploding in the ceiling corner of the bathroom, the same bathroom I had been attacked in a week ago. My body went into a shock-like state, seeing my little brother killed right before my eyes when he was just lying next to me in my bed, resting from pure physical exhaustion.I need help right now. Never in my life had I needed more help than at this point right now. There was no way I could go and grab my parents; they would not understand, and they would want more answers than I could provide to them. Jennifer was napping at home after seeing her boyfriend killed right next to her in a vicious car accident. Todd was out front, but I had a horrible fear that I would not be able to get outside to grab him without my body giving up and shutting down. After Jackson’s head exploded, his limp body fell to the tile floor with a resounding thud. I desperately wanted to rush in and grab his
After the horrible nightmare that ate at my heart as I slept, scaring the living daylights out of me, I was able to sleep soundly for the first time in a very long time. Jackson remained at my side, sleeping, and never moved an inch. During my much-needed sleep, I could literally feel my body recharge from the draining lack of sleep.Sarah Macly was still in my closet, where she would stay until I deemed otherwise. No one ever went into my closet, not even me. If I needed clothes, I picked it up off the floor, gave it a smell, and put it on regardless of how it smelled or not. She would remain in the closet under the clothing until I could determine a way to keep her from attacking us non-stop.I checked my phone and noticed I had two missed calls, one from Mrs. Tannell and one from Nurse Helen. If it was just one or the other, I would have felt pretty nervous about it but having both of them call, that made it seem like
