The situation in my bedroom could not be more anxiety inducing, my body filled itself with thoughts of terror and pain as I tried to anticipate what was going to happen with Jennifer and demon Sarah in my closet. Jackson stayed back away from the closet door and close to me, he had the same feelings I was having and was mentally preparing himself for a demon versus human grudge match if Jennifer did indeed kill demon Sarah.
Todd was probably back at his windowless white van; certainly, happy he escaped my dad with a little help from Jackson. Todd could monitor the situation from his van and provide some supplemental support as needed. If he had some demon shards or a demon orb out there, we would most likely need those to fight off a revitalized demon Sarah if Jennifer took out her revenge for her boyfriend being murdered in t
Jennifer could not stay in the closet with demon Sarah forever. At some point she was going to rip her into tiny little bite sized pieces, or she would eventually unenthusiastically exit the closet with the weight of failure and sorrow pushing down on her. I tried to mentally prepare myself for either scenario, but my brain was still just as clogged as ever. Jackson seemed ready for the worst case, his body was tense, and his eyes never broke away from the closet door as he continued to hold his glowing blue hand up against it so we could hear everything. All had fallen silent, the only noise that escaped the closet was the sound of two beings breathing. The breathing was slow and precise, Jennifer seemed to have calmed herself down as demon Sarah was fighting for air through her nose and the blood-soaked gag in her mouth. There was a chance we escaped this moment in the right way and without any additional drama. A slim chance but an
Jackson had still not moved an inch, he was unconscious and had no idea that we had a whole new, stronger demon Sarah coming our way. No one was safe, considering she murdered Jennifer's boyfriend the last time we killed her, and she respawned back on Earth. When I called Todd, he sounded like something was happening, something of potentially life ending potential. I said, "Jennifer, see what you can do for Jackson. We are going to need him in the fight that is coming. I am going to check on Todd, something is not right outside." Jennifer labored over Jackson, nodding to acknowledge the instructions I had just given. There was no point in throwing a fit right now, she had merely responded how most of us would have. Revenge feels damn good, sometimes the consequences are worth it.I was not angry, I figured this would happen, and to be honest, I probably would have done the same thing. Gathered my body
Standing outside, burning up in my core even with a solid fall breeze pushing at my back, I was communicating with a shapeshifted Todd. There had been no sign of Jennifer or Jackson as of yet but deep down in my gut, I knew they would soon be by my side as I needed them. There had been no sign of demon Sarah since Jennifer ripped her throat, leaving the interior of my closet splatter painted with the blood of her black heart. I had to find a way to get Todd back, figure out what happened to him, and get prepared for the fight that we all knew was coming our way. The wind carried with it a sound unnatural to any sort of wind, almost words from the lips of those that have passed on to the other side. Hisses of death and growls of pain pelted me, tossing my hair any way it pleased. The time was approaching, the big fight was on my doorstep, and I was all alone, brain fogged and physically exhausted. Even with my pendant and inscripted hand, I
Trapped in Todd’s white, windowless van, I was slowly melting away, doomed to the same fate that Todd had suffered. Through the wildly loud beeping, I could hear something stomping wildly in my direction while I was trapped by my own melting shoes on the floor of Todd’s van. Nothing could make this situation any worse unless some random fire broke out or the Lord almighty decided to flood the Earth again. I was up against it now, something had to break free if I was going to make it out alive now. My brain had begun to release itself from the grasp of the capsules, the fog was clearing which led me to the realization that death was about ninety-nine percent assured right now. I needed Jackson and Jennifer, I needed them to save me. The stomping began to slow but it increased in volume and severity, whatever it was had arrived at my location and was ready to begin whatever its task was. Blinded by the sweat from the unnaturally hot inside o
Demon Sarah had indeed reincarnated herself, she was back, stronger than before, and ready to really strike at the heart of the ones I love. Her form had changed in shape, she seemed more robust, more vibrant than I remembered. It was my thought that demon Sarah would continue to morph each time we killed her, returned her to hell, and she revived herself. We had to play this smart, capture and detain, grab and neutralize, instead of kill and repeat, like a video game that gets harder with each level you advance to. Luckily for us, Jennifer, Todd, and Jackson were all back and ready for action. It was true, we had no time to relax or plan, catch our breath and clear our minds, but we had a fight, nonetheless. Demon Sarah was back and would not allow us the time to gather ourselves and properly prepare for a proper war. That was fine, I would rather be prepared but I was down for yet another fight, as long as we did not lose anyone.
Without warning, demon Sarah struck out at Jennifer and me. She managed to learn a new transcendental sprint or something along those lines as her approach was sudden and instant. The only thing I saw was a few streaks from behind her and suddenly she was on me. Jennifer gave her a specially charged chop to the throat as we scrambled to gain control of this situation. So, we were definitely dealing with an increase in speed but what was her strength like? That question was answered very quickly as I was tossed thirty feet back into my neighbor's yard and Jennifer was held with one hand by demon Sarah. Seems as if Sarah had no trouble dealing with two of us but had she forgotten about the other two, Jackson and Todd, who were sneaking up behind her to get the attention off of Jennifer. With a flick of her wrist, Sarah tos
This was about as bad as things could go for the humans as Todd had suffered some sort of injury due to demon Sarah's spinning laser attack. Jennifer and I were beaten up but otherwise not too bad off. Jackson had eaten a supercharged fireball that he created, and demon Sarah used its own momentum to send it back at him ten times as painful. She got him right in the head much like how she had shot me in the head which led to my fall through the portal to hell in Mrs. Tannell’s living room. Jackson sprinted to Todd as he continued to dodge the lasers being zapped from Sarah's fingertips. I had drawn close to her and felt as if she had finally dropped her guard or was unable to focus as clearly as she needed to in order to protect herself. Now, if I could just get my arms around her, we would be set. Just as I lunged out to grab her, demon Sarah caught me with a right hoo
Jennifer sprinted away the few feet to Todd’s windowless white van. Jackson sat next to Todd on the road as his body seemed to have ceased drifting away into the darkness. The van door slammed shut as Jennifer yanked herself into the driver’s seat. The van growled and hissed, but it would not fire up. I had forgotten that the demon that tried to kill me but inadvertently saved me had zapped the hell out of the van and probably fried some pretty serious parts that the van needed to work properly.Jackson’s head turned quickly as he heard the van struggling to fire up, he knew how serious this was and that we needed the van if there was even the slightest of chances that we would be able to get Todd some help. It did not take long for him to get there, as he quickly and repetitively smacked the crap out of the painted flaking hood. Each slap with his hand sent millions of tiny paint particles in the air, a poisonous type of
