Chapter 31

With a defiant stance, I stood tall and proud, confident in a way, waiting to counter the enraged demon boys first attack.  Nothing would please me more than to end this hear and now.  Todd and the beast were enamored with each other as he patted the gigantic beast’s head.  Most importantly of all, the demon boy watched me decimate his mother’s hands and for all I knew, he had no idea how I had accomplished that.  Hopefully, this instilled a sense of fear into the demon boy, if not a fear of being harmed, a fear of being defeated in front of his ailing mother. 

I said, "Welcome back kiddo.  How was your sudden gooey trip?  Hope it did not hurt your feelings too much."

A snide chuckle escaped Todd's throat, echoing through the wide room.  We all know that when you try to pull off the smart-ass chuckle, it is a good idea to not let many people hear it.  I suppose, Todd did not expect the sound to resonate so vividl
