Chapter 33

Crashing into the stairs resulted in my lower back bending in a way that it was not naturally supposed to go.  A searing pain shot through my entire body as the hand that grabbed my foot inched its way up my leg.  Its grasp gave off the feeling of urgency, as if it were a human climbing up the side of a mountain after realizing he was the lone survivor of a commercial plane crash.  

Looking down, fighting through the pain my lower back was putting out, it was Zombie Wayne the Uber driver.  His mouth was now gnashing together, looking for flesh to sink its teeth into.  There was nothing I could do to stop him; my back injury had debilitated me and prevented any form of retreat.  I closed my eyes and looked down at my inscripted hand.  It truly was my last resort.
