Chapter 87

Forgetting everything I had said to Jennifer and Sarah, I switched sides so that I would be flanking the opposite side of the doorway than they were.  We were now detached; my belt loop was free from tugs and the comforting information that those tugs provided to me while we were invisible in the middle of hell.  

Peaking my head into the demon’s cavern once more, I had to fight off the urge to just storm in there and laser his insides all over his filthy wall.  I could hear Jennifer whispering something, it was really quiet, and I doubt it made the impact that she was intending.  Her words fluttered through the air, navigating their way towards Jackson, spinning around past the demon that was spitting spider web material at him.

She said, “Jackson, if you can hear me, I wish you would fight like hell to free yourself.  I really wish you would use your abilities to break free from the demon’s webs and hustle out here.”
