16. Locked Up by the Lady Officer

"Wait....wait...It's a misunderstanding, please listen to me...!" Aarav spoke in panic.

Standing in front of him were four cops with their guns drawn, eyeing him as if he were a dangerous criminal.

"Don't move, first drop your weapon and put your hands in the air before moving two steps from your position!" The lady cop, ahead of the three male cops, shouted sternly at him.

"Weapon...what weapon...ahhh, this...this is not mine...!" Aarav, hearing her command, got confused. He didn't have any weapon with him, but when he looked at his hand, which felt a bit heavy, it stunned him, and he immediately dropped the knife he was holding.

He tried to explain that it wasn't his, but no one paid him any heed.

The knife belonged to the kidnapper leader who had attacked Bella in the last seconds. Aarav had snatched the knife from his hands and forgot to throw it away.

The torn piece of his shirt, used for makeshift first aid, added to the confusion as the cops misunderstood it as evidence of a struggle or wrongdoing.

Amidst the chaos, Aarav attempted to explain himself, raising his voice over the shouts of the officers. "Officer, you've got it all wrong! I was trying to protect her, not harm anyone. The knife is not mine!"

But the officers, fueled by the tension of the situation, weren't inclined to listen.

One of the male cops quickly handcuffed Aarav, suppressing any chance for him to clarify the misunderstanding.

As they took Aarav into custody, another cop turned to Bella, his tone slightly softer. "Miss, can you show us where you live? We'll make sure you get home safely."

Bella, still in shock and confusion, couldn't muster the courage to explain to the cops that Aarav was innocent.

Fear gripped her, and she stammered, "I...I don't know...he was just trying to help..."

The officers, however, were focused on their procedure, and with Aarav in custody, they ushered Bella away.

"Thanks for not being helpful; maybe I shouldn't have bothered to help you... damn, just my luck," Aarav muttered under his breath, wearing an annoyed expression.

"What are you muttering about? Keep moving!" The lady officer pushed him into the car from behind.

"I told you, I am innocent. It was a misunderstanding..." Aarav glanced back at the lady officer, attempting to explain, only to be shot down by her cold remark.

"Yeah, yeah, get inside. You can explain later." After waving him off, she pushed him into the police car and took a seat on the other side.

"Huh, aren't you going to arrest those guys?" Aarav looked at the unconscious kidnappers who lay on the ground, untouched by the officers.

"And why should we when clearly you are more dangerous to us than them!" The lady officer retorted sharply, refusing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

"But... but... I am telling you those guys aren't good people. Letting them go like this might harm other innocent people!" Aarav desperately tried to make her understand his point, but his efforts proved futile.

She wasn't giving him the benefit of the doubt at all.

"Don't worry about others; first, worry about yourself. Get a move on!" The lady officer retorted with annoyance, shouting at her subordinate, who was driving the car to return.

"Vroom...!" The car sped up and left.

'Unbelievable, what kind of idiot is this person to ignore my warning!' Aarav couldn't help but look at her with displeasure for making such a rash decision.

'Now that I look at her, she sure looks attractive in her uniform. Oh, wow... What a figure, gulp...!' Aarav finally noticed something he had been ignoring until now and could only gulp his saliva as he looked at her figure intensely.

Aarav noticed her dark, silky hair cascading down in a neat ponytail, framing a face with sharp, determined eyes.

Her nose was slender, and her facial features carried an air of authority. Lips, pressed into a firm line, revealed no hint of softness.

The well-fitted uniform accentuated her curvy, supple assets, stretching the shirt to its limits.

Her front assets were prominent, commanding attention with their size, creating an image that was both intimidating and alluring.

"Have you had enough, or do you want to feast more, you rogue!" The lady officer's chilly tone and the anger in her eyes snapped Aarav back to his senses, making him feel a twinge of shame for his inappropriate staring.

"So-sorry...!" Aarav apologized, looking down to avoid meeting her gaze.

"You're not only a criminal but also a lowlife. Do you think your sorry excuse for an apology makes up for your disrespectful behavior?" The lady officer's scolding continued, each word carrying a harsh tone that looked down on him, further humiliating Aarav.

"I don't like your attitude, you scoundrel. You're nothing but a nuisance, and you keep getting on my nerves," the lady officer sneered, her words dripping with disdain, leaving Aarav with a stinging sense of humiliation and frustration.

"Arghhh... I want to slap this woman's face, but I have to hold it in. She's a beauty and an officer, at that!" Aarav clenched his fist, grinding his teeth, annoyance bubbling up inside him.

"Captain, we've arrived here...!" The driver's voice saved Aarav from another humiliating remark.

"Get down, and let's go in!" As she exited the car, she didn't forget to pull Aarav out before pushing him into the police station.

"Creak...clang....!!"

"This is a good place for a rogue like you!" The lady placed him directly behind the bars, leaving him there with a last disdainful glance.

"Shit... that woman...!" Aarav cursed as he saw her walking away, her alluring figure shaking.

He wasn't sure if he was frustrated with her attitude or if he got excited looking at her sexy figure.

"Ho ho... we have a newcomer with us, brothers!" Suddenly, he heard a loud chuckle along with a gruff voice.

"Hmmn, who are you guys?" Aarav turned around and found there were others in the cell before him.

To be exact, there were five young men with a thug-like getup. One among them seemed different with a large tattoo on his shoulders and spiked hair.

He was the one who commented when Aarav arrived in the cell. Aarav could see in his eyes that this guy was up to no good.

"Haaa! Shouldn't you introduce yourself first, newcomer? And be careful with your tone in front of us!" The tattooed man, clearly the leader among the five, sneered.

"Hahahaha! How amusing. I've been annoyed for quite some time; let me release my stress a little!" Aarav snapped upon encountering yet another group looking down on him.

The air in the dimly lit cell became charged with tension, as both sides observed each other.
