2. Force Into Humiliating Situation

Aarav noticed the disgusted look from the receptionist, a sharp contrast to the well-dressed customers around him, and didn't have the energy to argue with her. He had more important matters to attend to.

"I'm a friend of hers. Can you please tell me where she might be?" Aarav replied, a hint of anger in his voice as he asked again, feeling the eyes of others judging him for his disheveled state and worn-out appearance.

The receptionist scoffed, glancing at him disdainfully. "You must be mistaken. Ms. DeVere doesn't have friends like you. She wouldn't associate with someone looking like...a poor pleb."

Aarav felt the weight of humiliation, not only from the receptionist's words but also from the contemptuous glances of those around him in the upscale store.

A well-dressed man nearby muttered to his companion, "Look at this trash. Probably wandered in here by mistake. This kind of plebians should stick to their own kind."

A woman, clearly part of the wealthy crowd, wrinkled her nose in disgust. "What is he doing here? This place is for people who can actually afford things."

The whispers and sneers intensified, forming a barrier of disdain.

"Security, throw this trash out, he is dirtying this place!" Wrinkling her eyebrows, the receptionist shouted towards the two burly guards.

"No... no, wait... listen to me, I am really a friend of your boss. Hey... let me go!" Aarav, seeing the two burly men coming towards him, felt scared and became more desperate.

But the guards didn't give him any chance and directly caught him by the shoulder, dragging him out of the jewelry store.

"Thud... Ahhh!" Aarav got thrown to the ground, making him scream in pain.

"Get lost, otherwise we won't let you off in one piece!" The two burly men coldly spoke as they looked down on him, their eyes full of disgust and disdain.

Aarav, looking at them, shivered before running away to a nearby alley to hide from them.

"Damn it... damn it, those fucking assholes, what should I do? How can I find Isla?" Aarav slammed his fist into the ground with the anger and humiliation he suffered.

He thought of a way to meet Isla DeVere without getting caught.

He went back to the entrance and looked for an opportunity to sneak in when a crowd of people suddenly entered the store.

He also got mixed up in them, slipping inside before running deeper into the store.

Aarav hurried to find Isla DeVere, his ex-girlfriend from university days who had chosen to leave him for a wealthier partner.

He harbored no ill feelings toward her, understanding that he couldn't meet her high standards.

She came from a wealthy family, and their relationship had often been strained due to her demanding lifestyle.

Arriving at a room that seemed like her private restroom for personal meetings, he pushed the door open.

"Creak...!"

About to call her name, he froze, shocked by what he saw inside the room.

"What is this!" Aarav Veridian looked at the messy room, especially the clothes: a pair of woman and man's clothes.

"Who the hell are you, daring to barge in here!" He heard a loud shout, making him snap his attention toward where the voice was coming from.

He saw a woman, or his ex-girlfriend, Isla DeVere, sitting on a man's lap, moving up and down, and the man himself was moving his hips in rhythm with the woman.

He felt familiar with the man, and when he saw his face, he almost cursed at him because this bastard had been the cause of his suffering for the past six months now.

He's Darius Blackthorn, a rotten playboy who's targeting his wife, Elara Rossi, and always trying to propose to her, hailing from the esteemed Blackthorn family, rivaling, if not surpassing, the prestige of the Rossi family.

After that bastard yelled, Isla paused, and the room fell silent.

"Wha...what!"

Aarav felt a mixture of shock, humiliation, and anger, frozen in place as he witnessed the intimate scene.

Isla shot a sharp look at Aarav. "Seriously, do you lack common sense?" She was taken aback by his unexpected presence.

Since he'd never reached out to her before, Isla was a bit startled to see him here.

The air in the room was heavy with tension and the weight of Aarav's heartbreak.

No matter how much anger and humiliation he felt, he had no relation with her now. Barging in and disturbing them was his fault, but he desperately needed Isla's help.

"I'm sorry, Isla! But it's urgent, so I came here without letting you know. Could you please lend me a million Celestial Crowns? I need it for my little sister's treatment; she's in critical condition!" Aarav apologized, despite feeling a sense of humiliation watching them engrossed in their act.

Recalling how she'd never allowed him to get close when they were dating, he couldn't help but seethe with anger.

"What... no way, I'm not lending you a dime. I wouldn't have even when we were together, let alone now that we're over," Isla firmly rejected him, her words cutting into his heart like a knife.

Aarav's eyes pleaded with her, desperation written all over his face. "Isla, please, it's a matter of life and death. I'll do anything, just help me save my sister."

Isla scoffed, dismissing his plea. "Life and death? Sounds like a drama you'd make up. I have my own life to live, Aarav and your problems are not my concern anymore."

Aarav's shoulders slumped, defeated. "I never thought you'd be so heartless, especially after what we shared."

Isla, unfazed, retorted, "Our past is exactly that – the past. You should have thought about consequences before barging in here with your pathetic plea."

Darius Blackthorn, smirking at the drama unfolding, added, "Looks like your sob story isn't getting you anywhere, Aarav. Maybe it's time to consider my offer if you want that money."

"What do I need to do?" Aarav asked, his hope rekindling a bit.

"Nothing much, just record a video of us having a good time, and if I like the video, I'll give you a million Celestial Crowns," Darius Blackthorn said with a mischievous grin, though he couldn't hide his disdain for Aarav.

"Oh, okay,"
