The tree man escorted them into the woods. They walked through the path that is filled with tall trees, grass and bushes. While walking, Virgil explained to the tree man that they are just staying in the settlement for a while because they need a place to stay for the night. The tree man expressed that he understands their situation. It took them several minutes before reaching the end of the forest. Upon emerging from it they were greeted by the sight of three tree people, gathering around a campfire. Their appearances are almost similar except for their faces and the shape of their bodies. Virgil got up, beside her Katherine is still sleeping soundly. She walked towards Daniel. She greeted him with a good morning. Daniel greeted her back. "Why are you up so early?" the cat asked. "I just want to start my day early," Daniel replied. "You're eager to get out of this place, aren't you?" the cat assumed. "I just want to keep moving, that's all." Daniel stretched his arm. "Well, lets just wait for Katherine to get up then we'll bid farewell to this people. Is that okay with you?" The cat looked at Daniel, raising an eyebrow. "Sounds cool to me." Daniel showed a smile to the cat. Katherine woke up. She sat up and cleaned the corner of her eyes. She greeted her acquaintances a good morning. They
The dry leaves made a crunching sound as the three of them step on them. The forest is a little bit dark and shady. The ray of orange light that is coming from the sky is peeking through the leaves of the tall trees around them. The forest is quiet. What awaits them in the end is a mystery to Katherine and Daniel. Virgil on the other hand, knows what is the abomination that they should be expecting. Daniel panted a few times, trying to catch his breath. He's starting to feel tired because they have been trailing the woods for several hours. Katherine is starting to feel exhausted as well. Her legs are starting to ache. Virgil looked at them and saw how tired they are. "Maybe we should stop for a while," she suggested. "Good idea! I need to catch a few breaths," Katherine agreed. They found a tree with exposed roots. The roots are big enough for them to sit on. They decided to sat on it. Katherine grabbed a bottled water from her bag. S
The three of them went back to the muddy plain. Their minds are distorted because of the fruit they previously consumed. Daniel picked up a stone and threw it to the creature's face. Behemoth faced him, infuriated. "Are you going to attack me for that, asshole?" Daniel smiled annoyingly. The creature charged towards him roaring. He then quickly leaped on the side, avoiding the creature's attack. The creature lost control of its body. It falls to the floor. Daniel kicked some dirt to the creature's face. "Are you trying to catch some mudfish?" Daniel bursts into laugher. Virgil and Katherine laughed as well. The creature stood back up. It feels more infuriated. Behemoth wrapped its trunk around Daniel's neck, strangling him. The creature then slammed him to the muddy ground. Daniel's head submerged into the mud. He gets out of it afterwards. Virgil threw a piece a stone on the creature's leg. The creature turned to face her.
Daniel went to the side of the tunnel. He vomited enormous amount of blood. While vomiting, Virgil is tapping his back, assisting him. Katherine is lying down on the floor, still feeling tremendous pain. Her body is trembling. She's groaning loudly every time she feels the sensation. She's frequently touching the areas of her body where it hurts. She cough from time to time. After vomiting, Daniel went back to his comfortable spot where he lies down with ease. He is panting."When are we going to recover from this?" Katherine touched her abdomen, putting a little pressure on it."To be honest Katherine, I don't know. Our battle with that creature took a lot from us," Virgil replied. She lets out a deep sigh. "The only thing I'm certain about is that, it's going to take a long time before we can get back to our usual state," she added. The day goes on. Their groans and grunts filled the atmosphere. Their heavy breathes and expressions of pain ec
The three of them stayed at the tunnel for two whole days. During those days they took a power rest. Their injuries healed slowly, however Katherine and Daniel can still feel some painful sensation but it's more manageable. The three of them moved forward. They continued walking through the tunnel. It took them roughly three hours before they made it out. They emerged below a sky high wall. The wall has a curve that bends inward. They looked around and before their eyes there is a spacious, deserted and desolated field. Dusty particles are everywhere, being blown by the wind. They saw a few plants, but they are all dry and dead. The three of them kept walking. Out of nowhere they heard a sound that is coming from a revving engine. It is followed by cheerful yells. They looked around, looking for the source of the sound then they saw two sports car that has no hood chasing each other. Each car is housing five people and they are all wearing weird and creepy
