Diana Back At Home

She sat in the centre of it all. The noises, the exclamations, the "I knew it"s and the "I warned you"s. It was overwhelming for sure, but she knew it was the price to pay for finding herself in this unfortunate coercion of fate.

"I knew it! She should never have left this city!" Her father said, visibly agitated and seriously fuming.

"I told you not to let her work in that place!" He faced her mother and shared her some part of the blame.

"But you were there 9." The woman returned the share. "She said she was trying to prove herself? You could not stop her then.

"Prove herself? To who really? Was that supposed to impress me? Are you not the one who feeds her all the confidence?"

Dianna could not take it anymore. And before anyone of her two parents could raise their already usually loud voices one more time, she stormed away from their midst in rage and found her tiny pretty but tired legs skipping towards what used to be her bedroom.
